Testing the MusicXML features, I took a standard song found on the web (Manha De Carnaval) In BiaB I went to File > Save Special > Save Song as Music XML. I selected the piano track
I then started MuseScore and opened the XML file and got this message
File corrupted C:/bb/AAA_MySongs/Development/A Day In The Life Of A Fool.XML
Measure 33 Staff 1 incomplete. Expected: 4/4; Found 17/16
Bar 33 certainly has a 16th beat extra in the treble, but the correct count in the bass
I then opened the same XML file in SoundSlice, and sure enough, there is an extra 16th beat in the treble and and 1/2 beat is missing in the bass. Both show different notation so this too is inconclusive.

Curious! How does BIAB interpret the notes within BIAB? What do you see when you look at it in BIAB's notation view? Makes me wonder if the problem resulted from odd-length MIDI notes, but then rounding errors to make them fit specific boundaries ended up adding an extra 16th note. I also wonder if it is related to BIAB's PPQ resolution of only 120.

We'll when it happened I did check the Piano Track Score, and it counted correctly, there were no extra / missing notes or rests. The notation was fine.
But now I'm in trouble because I didn't freeze the tracks, and now I cannot reproduce the same notation.
But, it did definitely check out correctly (timing wise).
Note though that it was a RealTrack, not MIDI, and therefore I presume used the 'MIDI' equivalence/transcription as input to create the XML.
Yes, the PPQ resolution could be related. It may just be integer truncation where a value of 0.5 or less is rounded down, and > 0.5 is rounded up. Just a guess.
I assume it will happen again unless it gets some attention.

It was related to the Real Tracks music that was generated by BiaB on the Piano track. I can't repeat it now. I should have frozen the track immediately that it happened.

Hi Dan When you click on the link, Do you have a Download button at the top right. If so, download as the original file name and then open that.

Ya, I click on all that, but nothing happens. No Download file appears. I have a drop box account and use it all the time. Did you place this file in the "public" folder?
Rounding up, if employed, would occur at .5 or above.
Yes, my bad. Must have been too much red...

."…"The New Music XML feature is a very big deal - this feature alone is worth the upgrade!"
OK, so I am still waiting for someone to report something unique and successful which can now be accomplished with this new feature. I have not yet updated, so certainly someone can tell me if both notation and chord symbols can be exported to a notation program.
What I am seeing in this tread is not giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I'm certainly no expert on MusicXML, but I can see its advantages for porting music across different platforms and using it for different purposes.
As far a just looking at a printed score, using BiaB's own native music chart displays and using MuseScore to open an exported XML file give similar results, but that's a very simplistic view, because MusicXML opens up a whole new dimension in portability and flexibility, far beyond printing scores.
You might 'simplistically' look at MusicXML as something like Super Enhanced MIDI, because everything musical can be communicated, not just note and control events etc. Chords, Lyrics, Expression symbols, Key signatures, and more can be transmitted that aren't currently able to be sent by MIDI.
HTH somewhat. Trev

It seems that the MusicXlm in biab is a bit flimsy !
A fairly standard melody in my Sibelius 7 - having a first and second ending with a repeat in the first ending - exportet to MusicXml. Reading the exported MusicXlm file into biab - no signs of repeat or first and second ending.
Opening the same MusicXml file in Myriad's free Melody Player: "http://www.myriad-online.com/en/products/melodyplayer.htm" shows repeats and first and second ending - everything is OK.
Now open the biab demo-file "...\bb\Tutorial - Repeats and Endings\repeat Tutorial Example 3 -needs 5X repeats at bar 5-6.MGU", and save it as MusicXml, then open the MusicXml file in biab - no signs of repeats and the chords are mysteriously changed.
It seems that the MusicXlm in biab is a bit flimsy !
When I save a ZZJAZZ.MGU demo file as XML and reload the saved XML file I don't get the original ZZJAZZ.MGU. Instead I get a virtually empty chordsheet with two bars and nothing more -> No chords, no melody track and whatnot. Definitely there is the mischief in there. PG Music cannot duplicate this bug and thus finds it difficult to debug. This feature is basically dysfunctional here for a standard Win 7 Home Premium system.
Adding my initial observations...A simple song I notated using Notion (version 5), export as musicxml. Guitar pro *6) reads it properly, including the chords (minor 6ths, major 7ths, and simple minors), while BBW2016 when importing the XML displays all chords as major. Have not pursued this further.

Well I am feeling a bit better about this XML stuff.
Is this too simple a test? For me my expectations are simple.
