I just watched most of the new 2016 BIAB features.
I was glad to see the styles improvements and many other new features.
The new lyrics features are cool too.
But I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that they were being placed ABOVE the chords!!!
Pray tell, why did you do that?
Every single sheet music, song book, fake book etc. that I've ever seen in my entire life has the lyrics BELOW the chords.

This point has already been brought up. PG weighed in on it. And suggested you try it, you may like it.

Yes, in testing we found it confusing if some layers were above, and some below the chords - because you couldn't easily remember. But if you know the layers are all above it's consistent.

I don't normally use lyrics in my charts, but I agree that lyrics should always be below the chords / stave. This is purely for consistency with virtually every printed music form.

Is there a reason that layers are "per-song" and not a global preference? Any time I load a tune with line-based lyrics (and I have a lot) I have to manually go to the Chord Display icon and uncheck the lyrics layer.
I really think that layers deserve to be "sticky."

I noticed the same thing and agree, lyrics should be below the chords.

The lyrics are below the staff lines(and chords) in the lead sheet window. It is just like someone sitting at the piano with you and turning the page in the music book. Why not use that? I always have.
LOL
Ps....however, I have posted that I am having a big problem
entering lyrics with 2016. The bar lyrics do not show up in the lead sheet and when I get past bar 64 or so the line based lyric input method is going crazy. See my other recent posts.
