Hi all...
I'm using the Audigy 2 Platium. I really love it because of the front inputs/outputs. I bought a Behringer mixer last week and really love it too. As per Gary's suggestion, I connect my SD2 into the mixer stereo input and run it back into the Audigy's Aux 2 inputs. When I record BIAB or RT with this setup it really sounds great. But here is my question; When I am recording my voice the input I'm using for this is the mixer going to the Line in 2/mic 2 input on the Audigy. I hit the mute button for the music input (Aux 2) so that nothing will go through it from the mixer. But the music is still being recorded again on top of itself at the same time as while I'm recording my voice. I've checked the Windows input control panel as well to make sure that the aux 2 was muted there as well, and it is. It seems that the only way I can get around this is to plug the SD2 directly back into the Audigy's Aux 2 input and plug my headphones into the Audigy as apposed to the mixer as well. What am I doing wrong? OH... I've also made sure that Line in 2/mic 2 is being used when recording my voice. In the end, I want to use the mixer to monitor the recording of my voice, with the music tracks playing behind me without re-recording on top of itself.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

The Mic gets plugged into the mixer. EVERYTHING goes through the mixer. You *should* be able to set it up so that by pressing the Tape In button, you can hear the already recorded SD2 information, and the mic information in your headphones. Make sure that you MUTE or turn down the INPUT to the mxer board for the SD2 so you don't record them to the same track. Also, do not use the WhatUHear as your recording input, make sure you're using the Line In selection, and that the Tape OUT of the mixer goes to the Line In 3 (I think, the stereo jacks on the Platinum).

Here's how I'm set up.I use the internal card for playback and an A2ZS Notebook to recoed
1. Mic in mic channel 1
2. Bass in mic channel 2
3. Internal Soundcard output into stereo channel 3/4
4. Edirol SD20 into stereo channel 5/6
5. Headphones in mixer as well
6. Aux send 1 to A2ZSNB soundcard input
7. A2ZSNB output to Aux return on mixer
Now all you do is turn up the Aux send for the channel you want to record and turn the rest down.
For live playing the Aux send serves as the input to Sonar that has a Lexicon reverb inserted.

Are you using Vista, Bobby?
I've noticed that the Audigy is a little quirky at times in Vista - especially when ASIO is used. I think this is due to the lack of well-designed drivers. One of the problems that I discovered was a tug-of-war between the 48,000 Hz that the Audigy preferred to the 44,100 Hz that programs tended to set. I minimised issues when I set everything to 48,000 Hz.

No... not using Vista... I should have said that in my post. I've got XP Pro, SP3. I am not using "What-U-Hear" when recording my voice. The mic is going from the mixer into "Line-in 2/mic2" on the Audigy. The recorded music tracks are going from the mixer into Aux 2 on the Audigy. I'm going to try Gary's setup... I could have read the setup he gave me last week wrong. It wouldn't be the first time

Well... I did it again... wasted a whole lot of time pulling my hair out and wasted your time answering my questions for the second time. I have to start reading what is told to me completely and more than once. Gary, you sent me the answer to this question BEFORE I even got the mixer. When it got here I was in such a hurry to get it up and running, I only read the top part, couldn't get it to work, posted another question (the same one, in a way) and then FINALLY sat down with the FIRST response you gave me and read the WHOLE thing 3 or 4 times... and found the answer. So sorry - I'll try not to let it happen again.
But... here's something that isn't in the response; After I've recorded all my tracks into audio, they play nicely through the speakers like you said they would. But you suggested that I run these audio sounds into the mixer so that I can monitor them through my headphones. Problem is, I don't have any outputs on the Audigy to run it back into the CD/Tape In. I connect my power speakers through the optical output. Is it possible to also have it send out through the Speaker Out on the back of the card at the same time? I've tried it but haven't had any success so far. I have the headphone jack on the card but I don't think I should be using that, right? I have the S/PDIF output but I don't think that's an option either, right? I'm so close... maybe a little more of your helpful input would get me over the top??? It sure would be appreciated.

The 'Headphone/Line Out' from the actual card should work nicely. I don't recall if there is actually a set of Line Out RCA jacks, I think you need to use 1/8" stereo headphone, get one of those 1/8" to RCA stereo adapter cables (the ones that come with every CD player for connecting to your stereo) and plug those into the Tape In. I don't recommend using the Headphone out on the break out box.

Hi Gary...
Well... I managed to get my audio files hooked up to the mixer's "CD/Tape In" inputs. But there's still a problem. In order to hear them I have to have the "CD/Tape In To Control" pressed. It sounds great but the only trouble is that I can't hear anything from the mic. When I press the "Tape In to Control" again I can hear the mic but no audio files. And of course, when I press the "CD/Tape in To Mix" button, the sound wants to be recorded.
Please forgive me for keep bothering you with this but I don't know where else to turn. The Behringer manual is only 13 pages and really doesn't address what I'm trying to do.
As usual, any help you give me is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help Rob...
But you'll have to forgive me... my mixer is a different model than the one you had albeit it's probably the same setup as yours. I'm not sure what inputs you're using because I can't see the writing that's behind the input cords that are plugged in. You have to know that this is all VERY new to me... but I'll eventually learn. Maybe you could actually tell me what inputs you used for your setup by name?
The way I understand it from Gary is: My Ketron SD2 goes into a stero channel. The CD/Tape output goes into my Audigy card's Aux 2 input. I record using the Aux input. Up to this point it works well for me. But here's where I'm having trouble; the output from my sound card goes into the CD/Tape input. When I do this the CD/Tape to control has to be pressed to hear my recorded audio tracks. When this is done I can't hear the mic through the mixer. When I press the CD/Tape to control button again I can hear the mic but not the recorded audio. It has to be something that I'm doing wrong. Like I said... any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

On the mixer, the output is the main out, and the input is the tape in.

I'm sorry, my fault.
Please go to your Creative Mixer applet, and make sure that the Line 2 Input slider is up and not muted. This is the PLAYBACK slider, not the record slider. That should be to the left of the record slider. That way, you'll heard, in the headphones when you press Tape In To Control room, what is going into the Creative Card.
Of course, if you're using your mic, you'll want to make sure your speakers are turned off or down, of you'll record everything coming out of the speakers as well.
