Greetings forum,
I am using RB to play midi files. I use the VST sounds. Is there a way to play and hear the midi playback and transmit the midi data to the midi out at the same time. It seems like when I transmit midi out data I cannot hear my song. If I can hear my sond there is no midi data out. Please help.

I beleive you either have to send out to an output port, or to a VSti not both

What keyboard? I have a Digitech Vocalist which will harmonize vocals based on the midi notes it receives. I need to send the midi data and hear my song with Real Band.

Copy a couple of the tracks to other tracks, then merge those tracks to a single track and assign just that track to go out the midi output port by right-clicking the name area and selecting the appropriate port... leving the priginals going to the soundcard.
You can delete the unused copied tracks afterwards
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I would send the melody track, and the piano track, that way you get the melody for the harmony and the piano for chords.
Hey Saxy, does the vocalist all CC commands to trigger the on for harmonies?

Robh,
I don't really understand your question. The vocalist takes the midi in cable and produces harmonies based on the midi data is the best way I can explain it. It has parameters for the types of harmonies you want. It is very cool. And it does pitch correction for us who cant sing.

I think what RobH wanted to know is if you can turn the harmonizer effect on/off with midi messages..
I would think this is possible (?)

The new version claims that in the manual, the new Vocal 3 thing, i think that would be hot, not having to remember to click the box on and off everytime you hit a chorus

The PDF manual for the Vocalist VR says:
*CC12 is Harmonty Level, 0-127. Seems like one could program this to cut out the background harmonies when needed.
You can also control panning of each harmony voice with CC's in a sequence, too.

But have 1 question. My sound card is my midi in/out ports on my puter (using M-audio Audiophile 2496 card). So there should be no prob in having the midi data coming out of it's midi out with audio coming out of it's line out jacks at the same time for the rest of the tracks (audio / midi) ?
