Hi Peter

Can you make your own Real Drums style in the Mac version of BIAB. ON the windows forum I got pointed to this:

"There are two main components to the drum part of any RealDrums style: (1) a wave file that contains a recording of human drummer, and a text file that contains instructions on how that wave file should be used to create a drum track in Band-in-a-Box.

We have written an extensive tutorial that explains all aspects of RealDrums style creation. First, download the latest update patch for Band-in-a-Box, if you haven't already. You will find the tutorial in the Band-in-a-Box help file under 'Contents | Tutorials | Making RealDrums Styles'. For some examples, examine the completed RealDrums styles in the C:\bb\Drums folder."

But I can't find the referenced tutorial in the Mac version?

Regards

Paul

Yes, you can make your own RealDrums for the Mac version.
'You would follow the same instructions as the Windows version, except that your final audio file should be a m4a (or AIFF), instead of a WMA (or WAV).

Note that the .txt file that has the line WAVNAME=zzzzzzzzzz.WAV should still end in .WAV for both Windows and Mac versions (even though the actual file will be called zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.M4a

It is on the BIAB2009 FAQs page.

Use the link in my dotsig below, then hit ctrl-f and type in RealDrums for a search of the topics.

One of them will have a link to the tutorial.

And it's still driving me nuts!

I found a download called 'realdrums_stylemaking_templates.zip' but I can't find this tutorial!!!
I'll keep looking but I think I'm either dumb today or I've seen it and am not seeing it (if that makes any sense).

Hey Mac

Thanks for taking the time to answer again.

I've found that FAQ - but what I can't find is the tutorial it actually references: 'Contents | Tutorials | Making RealDrums Styles'

As I said I've put in a request to tech support.

I'll bet its only in the BIAB 2009 Windows .pdf manual right now...

If you don't have a copy, send me a PM.

Thanks everyone.

Brilliant help.
Got a gig today that involves a 20 hour day.
But looking forward to sinking my teeth into this over the weekend.

I'll post how I get on.

Cant believe it's been two months since I posted that - I haven't even started to look at it. But I got a CD of David Garabaldi samples to try and see if I can come up with a "Dave" style plus some chords to practice my rocco style basslines too!

keep you posted of the progress!
