I plugged my JV-50 Roland keyboard into my Audiobox USB, and plugged that into a USB port on the back of my computer. Even though the Audiobox is selected as my MIDI input and output, there is no sound from the headphones connected to the USB device.
When I attempt to record, I hear nothing, and when I stop recording, a message pops up saying AUDIO info was recorded, even tho no audio (mic or guitar) is even hooked up! There are black lines that appear on the first track's timeline that look like MIDI stuff, but there is no audio playback. What, if anything have I done wrong?

Did you hook the audio outputs from the JV-50 to the inputs of the Audiobox?

No, I only hooked up the MIDI cords from the keyboard to the Audiobox.

You will have to also hook up the audio outputs of your keyboard to the line inputs of your soundcard in order to hear the audio that the keyboard is producing.
The MIDI connect is only the data to and from the keyboard, it contains no actual Audio at all.

OK, I can see that that will let me hear the output from the keyboard, and record it as audio. So, then why do I have MIDI connectors on my keyboard and Audiobox? I used to record by plugging my MIDI cables into the 15 pin "D-socket" on my soundcard- NO audio cords were needed. The reason I bought this Audiobox was so I could hook up a mic, guitar, AND my MIDI keyboard all at the same time. So, if I want to go from guitar to keyboard, I have to unplug the guitar, and plug in the keyboard, with audio cords? That makes all my MIDI connectors pretty much useless, and I'd love to hear someone explain why I "need" MIDI. If anyone here is using this or a similar USB interface to record with, I'd love to know if they have MIDI hooked up, and why.
OK, I just hooked up two guitar cords to my keyboard, and can hear the keyboard, AND I can also hear a radio broadcast of a baseball game! Does PG come with a "baseball game filter"??? Typical- solve one problem and another one pops up!
