How do I get the new manual??? Is it available yet??? Before reporting bugs in the 2009 Mac version, it would be better to read the manual in case I did not understand the new changes between the v.12 and v.2009
Thanks, Jacques

They do sell a program Band in a Box for Bozos for 29 bucks.

Did you contact live help for the answer.

Hi John, I do not want BIAB for Bozos, I want the Mac 2009 manual that should have been included in the Ultrapack package that I purchased. This forum is for inquiries, so I made one, also an answer from PG would benefit all the musicians who are waiting for that manual.

There is a full PDF manual in the Manuals folder, do you have that?

Hello Peter,
I know of the PDF manual and I am using it everyday but it is a pain in the ... to switch back and forth between one working screen and the PDF and sometimes it is so easy to make a mistake and erase the working screen...That is why I prefer to work with a printed manual. I know that I could print the PDF manual but it's a big job to do it on an inkjet printer or go to a printing shop is expensive. Beside, in recent inquiries about this printed manual, I read that a printed manual was on the making by PG Music and would be available in a week to 10 days. That was 4 weeks ago, thats why I made my inquiry. Please let me know of it's progress.
Regards, Jacques

I too would like a printed manual for BITB 2009 Mac. I purchased the software in June and when the package arrived there was an old manual in the box with a note that a new 2009 manual would be sent in the mail. Nada so far. It IS a royal PITA to bounce back and forth between a pdf and the music software.

For better or worse, printed manuals are being replaced by software manuals, mostly pdf. This is true of most Apple Manuals, and is very common among other software vendors. It is for mainly this reason that I bought an iPad. Reading on an iPad is great, and you have a separate screen for documentation. If the document has links in its table of contents, index, and content, it is arguably better than a paper manual.

The iPad does not come with an app for reading pdfs. I have found GoodReader to work great, but others are available.

That is an excellent idea! Up until now I could think of no real reason to get an iPad but I will have to reconsider. I have a lot of software and loading all the pdf manuals onto an iPad instead of paying for printing would justify the purchase right off the bat. And I have no doubt that I would discover many other uses for it after buying one.

But if PG Music said they were going to send a printed manual, I would also be asking about it also because it was included in the price...

And I am also a PDF Manual hater.....

These comments are in reference to my 2010 Mac Upgrade.

I was told this by email from BITB .... "We provide full program manuals only with first-time purchases. As all upgrade customers already have a full printed manual from their first time purchase, we provide only 'upgrade manuals'. There is a PDF of the full program manual available within Band in a Box, in your Help menu. If you'd prefer to have the printed version of that, please contact us and you can order it for $10 plus shipping"

..... this I found not to be entirely correct. The "Help Menu" only accesses the 2010 Upgrade Addendum" not the full 2009 manual.

As I understand it .....

1) You get a full PRINTED manual when you make your first time purchase for the Version currently available.
2) When you upgrade you get a printed "Upgrade or New Features Addendum manual" to use with your original manual or ....
3) Your can order a new Printed Manual (if one exists) for $10.
4) As of now (with Mac anyway) there is only a 2009 Printed manual plus a 2010 "New Features" printed manual. This is the email response I received from BITB in this regard .... "You are correct in your assumption that we have not released the BB 2010 Full Manual yet. We are working on one at the moment, but for the time being the 'full' manual would be a combination of the 2009 full manual, and the 2010 addendum of new features that you've already received."

Hope this helps to clear things up a bit?

Just to reiterate ... if you recently purchased BITB 2010 Mac new, you SHOULD receive a full Printed 2009 Manual plus the Red "2010 New Features Guide". If you upgraded to 2010 Mac you would only receive the 2010 New Features Guide since theoretically you should already have the 2009 Manual. (The 2009 Mac Manual is in the Manuals folder as a pdf but I found the Help menu doesn't access it from within BITB)
