I'm confused. RealBand is supposed to be included with BIAB2009, but I can't find it on my PC anywhere. I became a BIAB user with V8.0 Pro+, upgraded to 8.5, then upgraded to 9.0. What am I missing?

It was in my BIAB 2009 installation for Windows. The program was installed into C:\Realband. Have you tried simply reinstalling the BIAB installation file? There's no need for you to reinstall all the RealTracks, RealDrums, etc.

If you have tried the above and you still can't find it, get on to PG. Those guys know what you have and if you still can't find it and are entitled to it they will give you a link to download it.

Silvertones, the only media I've ever received was DVDs for V8.0, 8.5 and 9.0.

So when you insert the DVD at some point early in the process you'll come to a screen that lets you place checks in the boxes for what you want to install. It will list Band in a box, Real band and a couple others. Try a reinstall and see if this comes up. Also check on the C drive for an RB folder. You also mention v8.0, 8.5, 9.0. Do you really mean 2008.2008.5, 2009? Where did you get the DVDs. PG Music or some other 3rd party?

Silvertones,
Setup box gives me 4 choices only:
Band-in-a-box 2009
Roland VSC-DXi Plug in
Roland VSC-VST Plug in
PG Music DirectX Plug ins

Yes, 2008, 2008.5, 2009. No C:\RB folder either. All DVDs came directly from PG Music.

I called Tech Support and was told that, at the time I purchased BIAB 2008, RealBand was not included in the Pro version. Therefore, in subsequent upgrades, RB would not have shown as an option (even though the current web page says IT IS included with BIAB). Bummer!!! The techie suggested I wait until right before the holidays when a new BIAB upgrade will be offered and WILL include RealBand.

Looks like I've purchased the software at the wrong time. Isn't marketing wonderful?? Thanks to all who tried to help.

Sorry, Tom. Note that your first post on this thread stated BIAB 2009. Now you tell us that you bought BIAB 2008 (RB didn't exist then). So, presumably, you upgraded but didn't buy the full package - there was a difference. You have the best response from Tech Support as to what to do - that is their job. They also know full well what you have (so long as you registered and bought direct - if you bought from a 3rd party but didn't register, then that is your problem).

Keep coming DIRECT to the PG Music website and buying DIRECT and you will ALWAYS be supported to the best of what you have, in more ways than one.

RB is worth the extra investment and do what Tech Support told you. Wait for the upgrade...

Will do, Sam. It will be worth waiting for. Meanwhile, I can use my Cakewalk's Music Creator 4's sequencer to record multiple audio tracks, mix them down and import the file into BIAB. (It will be so much simpler when I get my hands on RB). BTW, I always go to PGMusic direct, because they do support their product so well. It's just that I usually try the forum first before I bug Tech Support.

Why would you want to do that, Tom? I mean, import into BIAB? Unless it is for live performance using the Juke Box facility. Aren't you working backwards?

We are here to help so there is never anything wrong with coming to the forum before bugging Tech Support but this thread really belongs in the RealBand area
