After I render the wav files to individual files and then load them up in Reaper the tempo has increased considerably.
What's up, any ideas?

I'd investigate whether the output files are 44.1 kHz / 16bit and, if they are, are they being read in as the same rate? I don't know Reaper and I'm not sure if my suggestion will help, but it's where I'd start.

That sounds strange, haven't heard that before. What tempo change are you seeing. For example, we make all of our demos as WAV files, and haven't noticed any tempo changes.

Thanks for your fast responses!
Got up this morning and created a fast song in BB, all real tracks. I checked whether the asio was set as driver. It was on MME, so I changed it. I have an M-Audio Audiophile 192 card that runs Asio.
I rendered the song and drag and dropped the tracks into Reaper. No speed up, as attested to by my ears and also the metronome.
I believe last night I saved the files on my new drive, a WD 1 TB Caviar Black. I will experiment today and see if I can reproduce the speed up and whether the new drive had anything to do with it.

***Make sure that the M-Audio control panel, under the Hardware Settings tab, is set to 44,100 and that both checkboxes underneath, "Rate Locked" and "Reset Rate when Idle" are not checked.
Also check Internal Xtal and Single and In Sync
Then, make sure Reaper is set to 44.1 because that is what BIAB will use exclusively.
Slightly faster and slightly higher in pitch is typical of what happens when a 44.1KHz file is played back at the 48KHz rate.
