Greetings Forum,
I am experiencing latency problems and I can't seem to fix them. When I record, the playback lags behind my other tracks.
I want to try an ASIO driver. Maybe it will help. Any suggestions as to where I can download an ASIO driver which will work with RB and BIAB. I really do not know that much about drivers so any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

***You should be able to use the MME to record without lag. There is a Wizard in the Audio Settings Window, "Get from Soundcard" that only works with the MME drivers, you might try hitting that button. Here is the link to the free ASIO4ALL drivers page: http://www.asio4all.com/ Be sure to READ all about it, the installation and usage directions, there is a small learning curve to using ASIO drivers of any kind and you will need to know the differences in how the buffers are set from the ASIO control panel with the host program shut down first, etc. --Mac

Hi Mac,
I totally agree with you that I should be able to record without lag. Let me give you more information.
I am running RB on my Mac Pro using VM Ware which allows me to run a PC program on my Mac Pro. I am using an Apogee Duet for my ins and outs. I think I have a top notch rig and this lag is driving me crazy. Maybe I am doing something wrong. All I know is that my midi tracks and my real tracks sound great. When I try to ad my sax, the recording lags.

Well, that fact is bound to complicate things.
Could be anything, driver issues of the soundcard, something in the coding, I wouldn't know what it could be.
This may be something to take up with VM Ware, too.

All I know is that when I hit record in Track View, I can see the scroll bar is not hitting the measure markers on time. They are late. I guess I will try the ASIO driver and see if it helps.

Sounds like latency due to VMWare being in the middle. Not sure that can be entirely eliminated, even with ASIO.

My, this is getting confusing. As Mac said, Asio$All. Failing that and a reset of your commputer's audio, get a PC. NOI
