Just tried a nice demo experiment -> convert RealTracks data to midi and have those tracks played via your favorite midi synth, just to demonstrate the quality difference of Audio RealTracks and a midi approach.
Thus I assigned a nice RealTracks solo supporting RealTracks Charts to the solo track. Copied the solo track to the melody track and muted the solo track. Notation shows up nicely on the melody track, the midi data seem to be ok. Yet on playback the melody track stays remarkably silent - no sound at all.

Those RealTrack notation guides are created just for the notes and are made silent during the creation process.
If that were not the case, when playing back a RealTrack that had notation for it, you'd hear the RealTrack and you'd also hear some MIDI Patch doubling with it.
It wouldn't sound too good, anyway, because the only real data needed is the note itself, not the velocity, nor any other parameters.

Of course they are made silent, since on playback you usually won't like to hear a mixture of midi sound and RealTracks audio. I just wanted to listen to those midi data when copied to a different track, viz. create your RealTrack on the Soloist track, say, and then copy its (notation) midi data to the melody track. You'd thus have a side by side direct comparison between midi data on the Melody track and the original RealTrack audio data on the Soloist track, say.
'Course people may have this comparison via creating some midi file and opening this file up in some Sequencer program. Was just wondering, why those BB midi data copied to the Melody track stayed silent. Can't see anything in the Event List or any pertinent controller entries via the PianoRoll view. Looks like some hidden flag may be involved here.

Yes, I think it is hidden. Very likely a blanket Velocity-all-the-way-down situation, but who knows? Well, Peter and co. do...
Again, it is not likely to sound very good at all because the only MIDI data needed to do the notation is the Note-On. Note-Ons at all the same Velocity can have a "machine gun" sound. Taking a quick look at one, Jazz Sax soloist, I found different Velocity data on each note in the BIAB Notation Edit view, though, so there goes that theory.

It seems reasonable to assume some midi pickup during the audio creation. With piano it's simple, for wind and string instruments there exists a great variety of such systems, too, these days.
Would make a good demonstration for the difference of real instruments and midi generated sounds. 'Ya know, just collecting selling points here. On paper this stuff sort of looks obvious, yet real side by side demonstrations have way stronger convincing power than any kind of blueprint ...
