I have BiaB 2020 and am using the Real Tracks set 64, Country Waltz 2. I have added an acoustic piano rhythm to the accompaniment.
At bar 25 I want to change the piano rhythm to a real track piano solo for 8 bars then return to piano rhythm at bar 33.
I have tried searching without success, so how can I do this please?

What I'd do is to put the solo piano on the Soloist track.
1. Now click on bar 1 and use F5 (Bar settings), to mute the soloist piano at bar. 1
2. Go to the bar where the solo starts.
3. Click on that bar. Press F5.
4. In Bar settings mute the rhythm piano and set the solo piano back to normal.
5. Select the bar where the solo ends, press F5, set the solo piano to mute and the rhythm piano back to normal.
That will do the job for you.

Hello Noel,
Thank you for your suggestion, that's very helpful.
I've tried putting a real-tracks waltz piano on a soloist track but it doesn't sound. The patch is showing on the mixer soloist track but there is no audio. I've checked by soloing the track and there is no playback.
I've checked the track is not muted.
Does the soloist track have to have a specific real tracks solo patch or should it generate a solo from any real track?
If it does need specific solo patches, I have tried searching for real tracks waltz solo electric and acoustic guitar and piano but can't find any.

why not do it in RealBand? Mute the piano track for eight bars and generate a piano solo (you can have a selection of multiriffs to choose from) on another track. you can also set reverb, chorus and volume for the solo much more easily than working in BIAB.
i'm assuming you've finished the BIAB song generating part of the process and are now 'tweaking' the final song which is where RB takes over from BIAB

Classicman, how are you generating the solo? Is it perhaps MIDI when the rhythm piano is RealTracks? If so, we need to solve the problem of MIDI sound. In the meantime, try finding a RealTrack piano soloist you like and follow Noel’s instructions with F5 and muting.

Classicman, how are you generating the solo? Is it perhaps MIDI when the rhythm piano is RealTracks? I'm definitely trying to generate the solo from RealTracks. Some of them seem to work and others don't even though they're listed under the best RealTracks for the waltz style I'm using. I've never used RealBand so I'll try it and see how it goes. quick tip for generating in RealBAnd - make sure you set the to and from boxes at the bottom to highlight exactly where you want the solo on the selected track
if you haven't tried RealBand yet, in my humble opinion you're missing a huge part of the potential of the BIAB and RB combination. any problems come right back and there is a whole host of people here ready to help

I've checked the track is not muted. Hi again, If you followed my instructions in the first post, the soloist should only sound for those bars in the song where you have set the bar settings set "back to normal" for the Soloist track. What you are experiencing sounds like it might be due to a Bar Settings error. To double check this... 1. click the mouse on bar 1 2. right-click and select "Bar Settings" (or press F5) 3. down the bottom of the bar settings window, click on "Reset ALL bar settings" -- this will remove all of them 4. the solo piano should still be on the Soloist track (in the mixer) 5. Make sure that the Soloist track is not frozen (the blue icon beside the S and M icons in the mixer) 6. Generate the song and let it play -- the soloist should now start playing at bar 1 If the above works, now re-enter the bar settings that I describe in my first post. Hope this helps, Noel

ClassicMan, you may want to try this alternate way to put a Soloist Piano to play bars 25 through 32 and return to the rhythm accompaniment piano at bar 33. It allows you to do it without using an additional track or having to mute between the rhythm accompaniment piano and the soloist piano.
It's the way I add a soloist most of the time. Here's what I did:
I set my song up with a 32 bar/2 bar ending waltz from set 64.
I used CWALTZP.STY a country waltz with piano swing rhythm piano RealTrack 1701
At Bar 25 I selected Bar Settings (F5) and near the top of the Bar Settings Page, I selected the RealTracks Button.
A RealTracks Changes Window opens and in the large upper box, Select the piano track
In the lower Change RealTracks To Box, I had previously searched and decided on Soloist Piano RealTrack 1949
Type 1949 in the Change Realtracks to box and enter
This replaces the RT1701 rhythm piano with the RT1949 soloist piano at bar 25
To revert back to the RT1701 rhythm piano at bar 33
In the upper right corner, select bar # 33
Select Realtracks button
select piano track
Type 1701 in the Change RealTracks to Box and Enter. This returns the Rhythm Piano to the Piano track.
Playback the song. On the Piano Channel in the Mixer, the RT1701 Rhythm Piano will play on the piano track bars 1-24 and at bar 25, the soloist piano will replace the RT1701 rhythm piano and play through bar 32. At bar 33, the RT1701 rhythm piano will replace the RT1949 soloist piano.
