You can do it that way, sure.

But if you had any add-ons to your original copy of BB, and they needed an installer to add them, they may not show up. Like the Lorber solos, Blues Pianist, things like that.

So what I do is Install from the USB drive, just the BIAB part, overtop of the one on my C drive. Then I check to see that it is running.

Now, you have two options. You could copy that entire folder over to the USB drive, overwriting, or you could leave *just* BIAB installed on C and open BB and tell the RealDrums and RealTracks where to look on the USB drive for the files they need.

This way you can run BB for MIDI styles only even with no USB drive hooked up.

OR -- if you wish to work on both the desktop and the laptop at different times and want both sync'd up, do the first one, so that the entire thing lives on the USB drive.

Well I decided to change my order to the USB HD version. I figured it might work for me if I install BiaB over top of my old installation on my c: drive. Then I will install the RT/D to my LAN drive. This will be slow but should work. That way the USB HD can be my backup. The only issue with this is I have to install ALL the RT/D.

I sent along a suggestion to tech support that they consider making the install program allow installation of SELECTED RT/D as well as all RT/D. This way those of us with most of them already can install only the new ones. That would be much faster. In addition those of us who don't want, for example, the jazz RT or the country RT don't need to install everything.

I hope this suggestion makes sense to tech support and they can implement it.

The electronic download has separate installers for all RealTracks and RealDrums.

You can order hard drive AND electronic download with no extra charge to you.

Hi,

I screwed up on the 2009.5 upgrade back in September when I missed the deadline. I jumped on the BIAB 2010 Ultrapak upgrade on USB. What a great deal!. I can't wait for my USB drive to arrive. This question may have been answered already somewhere else. I can use Electronic delivery to download the 2010 BIAB program and add-ons. Is the real-track sets (80GB) not available for download (on set at a time)? I can wait for my USB drive, but I do have access to a high speed connection. I just can't wait to get hold of the new real tracks. This BIAB program encompasses the best of all worlds. I enjoy the flexibility of all the MIDI styles but I also like to use loops when applicable. The real tracks are like an intelligent loop playback with the midi parts. I love them.

Normally you get an email with the download links. If you don't see it check the junk file. They have been known to end up there if your email service is picky.

Good point. Still, my suggestion of including the ability to do the same from the HD installer wouldn't hurt. We'll see if tech support likes the idea and can implement it.

Sorry,

I accidently submitted before the whole message:

Hi John,

I was able to download the program, 2010 bunus pack and forte. The last download link states:

Hi John,

I received the downloadable links:

RealTracks downloads.

The 80 gigabytes of RealTracks files included in your hard drive order are not available for download.
However, you can download and use the main Band-in-a-Box program while waiting for your full
Band-in-a-Box hard drive to arrive

Not a big deal. I can wait for the USB drive. I was just wondering just in case I can down load the real tracks and real drums content.
