My MOTU M Series ASIO Drivers are by default set to a sample rate of 48k Hz, and when I start BIAB I get a message from BIAB stating that it has changed the sample rate to 44.1k Hz, whereupon BIAB freezes, obliging me to open Windows Task Manager to shut it down. No error report from BIAB.
Thereafter whenever I start up BIAB there's no freezing issue so long as the ASIO Drivers are set to 44.1k Hz prior to opening BIAB.
Not a big deal, but it's been an ongoing issue with all BIAB 2021 versions thus far.
I'm presuming that BIAB is incompatible with 48k Hz, correct?
Santa brought me both BIAB 2021 and the MOTU interface, so I'm not sure if this issue I'm experiencing with BIAB 2021 is due to the BIAB update or some kind of conflict between BIAB and MOTU.

I think that is correct and that has always been my understanding. Or maybe things have changed in BIAB2021. My MOTU Audio Express is self-sensing and will automatically change to 44K when I run BIAB. However, I generally don't use the MOTU Asio with BIAB since only one app can access the ASIO at a time and I have it assigned to my DAW. So I use MME with BIAB.

I love and hate my MOTU Audio Express. I am afraid it is too complex for me. But all those capabilities give a lot of flexibility in usage. I think you just have to experiment to see what is best for you. Drivers can be tricky. You will have to learn what works and what don't. Always keep the driver install available for when your or Win10 messes things up.
Thanks for all the info! What I understand about Windows audio wouldn't fill a thimble. I think like most everyone else I pretty much mess with audio settings until I find a setting that works, then I don't want to ever think about it again.
Previous to my MOTU M2 I was using a Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 USB audio interface and Behringer's dedicated drivers. It did the job, though sometimes playback via Reaper would get wompy. MOTU appears to be more stable.
