I just loaded the new 2010 EverythingPak. I put the (huge) Real Tracks and Real Drums files on my server (y:\bb\RealTracks etc.), and am running the BIAB program from my desktop. I set the Preferences in the RealDrums and RealTracks tabs for "Use a customer folder location for RealDrums" and "RealTracks" to point to those directories on y:\... When I create a song with RealTracks, it plays the first few measures with the correct Real instruments, then they just drop out! and all I hear are the drums. Anyone got any ideas?

Bill, this should have been corrected in Build 289b. We're up to 291 now, and you should update your program. Takes but a few minutes.
Just in case it's not that, what OS are you running?
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Same problem here Bill (I missed your post before and accidently started a similar thread) And I'm on the latest Build (291) and still can only play 2 or 3 bars before everything except the drums cut out

Hi, I'm a complete Newbie to BB and just received my 2010 Everything Pak on HDD (EP289) and am running direct off the external HDD. Same problem, band plays 1 or 2 bars then all drops out except the drums. Strange thing is that after about 3 goes of closing down and re-starting it started working fine but then I came back to it today and it is dropping out again. I'm running Windows XP Professional 5.1.26 if that is relevant.
OK I read Matt's suggestion about updating to latest build so I just did that and it makes no difference.
Appreciate some assistance.

I am running with the BIAB Program on C Drive and RealDrums & RealTracks on D Drive both internal drives - using an uptodate Windows Home Edition V2002 + SP3 O/S. No Problems.
I have a second option to use the External PGM Everything Drive and with this setup, I have similar problems with regard to dropouts of RealTracks.

Here is how I made it work here: The same thing happened here when my USB drive arrived. Updates did not fix it. BUT -- Since I usually run external hardware MIDI synths here, I tried temporarily invoking the "Use Dxi" option and ran a song once using the VSC DXi. After that I closed down BiaB completely, then restarted it and loaded another song. Checked that it was still working properly with the VSC DXi, then opened the MIDI/Audio window from the Opts menu again and UNchecked "Use DXi". Reverting to the External MIDI synth again. After doing that once, the program now plays all tracks as it should and there has been no reason to revisit that little dance again. There is another way, apparently, if you don't have the VSC DXi installed, this from PGMusic's Andrew in another recent thread: Quote:
Hi,
This problem seems to happen on some specific XP systems, if you haven't ever used DX, and we're working on fixing it. In the mean-time, you could fix it by disabling fast generation in the RealTracks Settings, however there is a better solution - one thing you could do is use a DXi/VSTi synth for your MIDI playback. If you are using a hardware synth and don't want to use a DXi, you can instead do this:
-Audio menu-Drivers/settings -select 'use realtime plugins' and press Edit. -select any plugin, like PG Peak Limit (select bypass if you don't actually want to use the plugin). -close the window and you shouldn't have that problem anymore.
-------------------- Andrew PG Music Inc.
As you can see, this is a known bug that they are working on, meanwhile we have at least two possible solutions that should get things up and running for you.

I just ran into this myself with build 291 when using ASIO drivers. MME works fine. I am running Win 7 64 bit with a Roland UA-4fx USB sound interface.

Whoa… Thanks, especially Mac and Andrew. It’s working great now! Here’s what I did: From the main menu selected Opts., then Midi/Audio Driver Setup, then clicked the box for “Use VST/DXi Synth”. That took me into “VST/DXi Synth Settings” window. Clicked the dropdown for the first “Plugin” and selected VSC/DXi. This popped up the EDIROL Virtual Sound Canvas which I ignored. I just clicked the X to close the windows, then clicked on OK to finish the job. Most of this is gibberish to me, not really understanding what VST/DXi is. Interestingly, afterwards, I unchecked the “Use VST/DXi Synth” and it continued to work fine! Even after shutting down BIAB and re-starting. I’m good. Thanks a ton……bill

Yes, the act of setting up the VSC DXi sorted out the problem here. Also tried with Forte DXi without checking and unchecking the box and it works fine. This would appear to be a problem to those users who do not use the DXi/VSTi syths for the Midi solution.
