Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking I need to re-ask my question on intro's because after reading it again maybe I can clear up my question a bit more. Once you have a melody track in place for a complete song, is there anyway to select a style and have it start on a certain bar--let's say bar 5 as opposed to having it always start on bar 1?

The three little numbers to the right of the songtitle window.
First one defaults to 1 and that is the indicator for "start of song". Change it to 5.
Second block is the number for the last bar in a Chorus (where it repeats or ends) Default is 32.
Third block denotes the number of times to repeat a Chorus. Default is 3.
Is that what you are looking for?

Hi Mac,
I hope your holidays were great. Hey I tried selecting the number one, and I set the chorus to start at bar 10. but it didn't work. when I look under the songs info it shows chorus to start at bar 10. But when I play the song, everything still starts up at bar one. I re-tried it, saved it, made sure it still shows chorus at bar 10 before starting it again--but it still starts at bar one. Something I'm doing wrong?

I hardly work with this feature (yet) but I checked and saw this:
Under the "melodist"button, after the "generate chords and/or melody"screen pops up, there is at the right hand side the option for "part of the song"or "whole song" I assume if you select the range there by typing the bar and chorus it has to start and the duration in bars, it should work. I hope that answers your question?
I'll be back...

Now I'm not sure what you are expecting to have happen here.
Are you wanting the song to start playing at bar 10?
The Intro system will start at bar 1 but the chorus will repeat at bar 10 with those settings, ignoring the Intro except for the first time through.

Hi MAc,
Either I'm misunderstanding what is supposed to be happening or it's not doing that. Here's what I did. I recorded a melody with a 9 bar intro. I set the #1 box to 10 and checked under songs and it showed the chorus was supposed to start at bar 10. I selected a style and hit play. It built the song and everything started on bar one--all the instruments--drums, guitars, everything. I thought I would only hear the single melody during the intro part with the instrument I recorded it with and the rest of the band wouldn't start until bar 10. Or did I set it up wrong?

What you want is to "Rest All Instruments" at those Intro bars.
That is done using the Chord Settings window.
Or typing in the chords using shortcuts.
For example: C.db rests all instruments but drums and bass.
or
C. will Rest ALL Instruments.
