I am using a style (GS051.sty) that came with one of the songs on the Jazz Guitar Solos with my EverythingPAK last year...
I'd like to make a small change to the drums part: I want to eliminate an annoying constant bell ring (I am not sure what that sound is called but if anyone has it and can listen to it, you'll know what I mean...) but it sounds like a constant ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, etc...)
Anyway, I thought this maight be a good time/exercise to learn how to use the Style editor... Unfortunarly, when I open the Edit/Current Style menu and try to see the drum pattern for this style I get a message that says this is a LIVE DRUM PATTERN and can be modified using notations, or something like that! What does this mean? And how can I modify such a thing... As you may have guessed, I don't have a Masters in Music nor I understand drum patters too well -- midi or otherwise.
Any help would be appreciaited.

It means that the Drum part was recorded using a real live drummer on a MIDI drum kit. Thus there is no automatic pattern generator involved.
BUT -- you should be able to see the recorded MIDI notes on the notation view and edit them out one note at a time, or perhaps on the PianoRoll View for nonreaders.
What you are hearing is most likely a MIDI patch that is sampled of someone playing up on the bell of a cymbal.
The whole thing might change sound by switching to a different MIDi drumkit without having to resort to Style editing. Or a different MIDI synth may have a more pleasing sound for that hit.

Thanks MAC, as usual, you were right on!
I did find the offending note both on the notations window as well as in the PianoRoll View and was able to delete them (BTW, I tried a couple of the of the other drums kits but did not help.) Also I found deleting a whole bunch of notes all at once in PianoRoll view was faster than trying to detete each note, one at a time in the notation window... So thank you, that was really instructional.
However, after I delete the notes and do a "save as"... the notes came back. I supposed BIAB is rebuilding the drums each time from sctratch. 1) if it was a LIVE DRUMS PATTERN, I am curious how can they do that? b) I read the manual and somewhere there it said to save it as Midi... in order to preserve the changes... but couldn't figure out how to do it. I tried to mute all the other instruments, saved the file as midi, then I imported it into either of the melody/solo tracks and muted the original drum track on BIAB... but that sounded like a dog's breakfast... I guess because the solo/melody track is playing it like a piano or a guitar and can't specify the track type to play as drums! Am I doing something wrong?
While on this subect, in some other styles, if I like a certain version of a build, how can I save that? I was thinking maybe I could send it to RB (how?) where the style doesn't keep rebuilding everythime I press PLAY???? Maybe the answer to this will also help the drum question above....

You likely did not Save the Style file under its own new name and then invoke that style to the song....
So each time you hit Play, the original Style file reloads the original patterns.
