Hi I'm new to power tracks pro audio, can anyone tell me how to add downloaded plug ins to power tracks I would like to add a better reverb and delay plug in, I have downloaded some but power tracks cannot find them
Any help please
Running Windows XP service pack 2 if this helps

Go to the DX FX window where you load the normal plugins.
Scroll down the plugin list to the bottom where you will find 'Add DX effect' (or maybe it says VST)
Add the effect by browsing to the file location for the dll or ax file.
Only has to be done once, then PT will remember where it is as long as you don't move the file.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Hi Thanks for the quick reply, as I'm totaly new to power tracks I would be most greatful if you could explain exactly how I go about it were everything is to be found what to click on etc

Click the little arrow beside the track name (under track number area)
click 'edit DX FX'
There will be one slot at top (this selects track number)
There are four slots grouped below, in any one of these, use the dropdown to scroll down to the bottom and 'add VST'
then find the plugin you downloaded by using the browse button. (can't help you there as I don't know where you saved it)

The included pgmusic realtime DX plugins are topnotch in sound if not always a pretty lookin' GUI.

One of my favorite reverbs is Ambience, have used it for years.
I do like PGEcho as a delay
Classic and Karma both have pretty good delays also.
PGReverb is a very servicable reverb. Takes a little tinkering like the all do.

Hi here I am once again, I cant seem to find the things you mentioned could you tell me which window they are in, the track window or the mixer window this is all new to me I need a guided tour.

There is a little arrow shaped icon on the far left side of the track in the tracks window
In the mixer window there is a button attop of each audio track for DX FX (effects).
Open either of these, and then go to the spot where you load the included PG effects, and scroll down to the bottom until you see 'add VST' or such..

I think you confused us when you stated you were a new user, but didn't mention that you were using the version of the program that is something like eight years old now. PowerTracks is up to version 12; if you are using version 8, that was from back in 2002. A lot has happened since then. The answers that have been given are based on more recent versions of the program.
For $29, you can upgrade to version 12 (or $49 to get more RealDrums with it). There are other upgrade options, as well. Personally, I would look at getting BIAB/RealBand (if your budget allows), as that will give you the greatest flexibility. Either way, PGMusic offers a 30-day money back guarantee.

Wow, version 8 ..
wish that had been mentioned earlier, guess I should have asked.
Ver. 8 had audio, and I *think* some effects in the edit pulldown, but not realtime effects. Long time ago.
The upgrade to ver 12 will have many features you are missing. Very many.

Hi, will powertracks 8 only work with DX plug ins ? and if I upgrade to version 12 will that work with VST plug ins

Version 12 does work with both DX and VST effects plugins; it does not work with all VSTi plugins, however.

Hi, I've heard about VST wrappers so you can use VST effects in powertracks is this true? and if so does anyone know where I could download a suitable one.
