When I output tracks in.wav for RB, the levels are very low, -12. Even if I choose the mixers in biab and rb and boost them, its still too low.

Any ideas?

Are you saying that even though the tracks in RB are HOT the meters on an outboard mixer show only -12.
This may help

'When I ouput tracks'

How are you ouputing the tracks? If using 'track - save track to file'- the sliders do nothing. Intentionally.
This saves a copy of existing track as a separate file.

If using 'audio - merge tracks to stereo wavefile' then the sliders should be making a difference.

Check the mixer slider labeled 'all' and the one toward bottom right of mixer (in RB) that says A1. These should be full up.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

When I output to rb, I just hit the.wav icon and it automatically exports each individual track as a seperate .wav file. In rb I then just select the empty track and import the rendered .wav file.

Its not a serious problem as I originally thought. I added PGDynamics effect to the channel and its sounds good with the volume increased to about -6 on peaks.

Cheers

That's the spirit. "Git-R-Done!"

You are going to do just fine with this stuff if you keep that kind of thang goin' on.

Now I get ya. Going from BIAB to .wav to RB. Ya just bump them up. Old school here . I want the initial track as hot as possible. With RTs you're stuck with what you get. I just normalize them all first. There's no noise. I've been tempted to take Cool Edit and write a batch Script to run normalize on the whole RealTracks folder.

Normalize?
Is that like running them thru a noise gate filter?

No -
Use 'edit - gain change' and on the left side select 'normalize' from the presets. This boosts the whole highlited area an even amount to make the loudest part of the track just below clipping.
Make sure the whole track is highlited by right clicking and 'select whole track'.

**sorry, thought I was still in RB forum, the procedure above is how to do it in RB, others may chime in for BiaB steps..
