Every so often I save a BB or RB file I have created and without realizing it, the program has defaulted to a Temp folder. It will happen even if I have already been in the folder I want. It does it seemingly randomly causing me to think I have lost the file when I go back in to open it in the file where it should be and it isn't there.
I had to do a search of my computer to find the file. I found it but can't seem to navigate to it because the folder doesn't seem to exist. It is telling me it is at c:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Temp yet the folder 'Local Settings' doesn't seem to exist when I try to open the file in RB or even 'Explore' to it.
Any thoughts on this? Has this happened to you? How do I prevent the programs from switching to the temp folder? How do I get to the file?
Thanks for your help.

It hasn't happened to me.
If you opened a Temp folder for any reason from inside the program, though, its focus will likely switch to that folder.
To find the file, do a Start->Search for the filename.
You likely can't find the folder because you have your Explorer settings turning off "show hidden folders" or the like.

I've seen this on several occaisions, with RB that came with BIAB 2008.5 . In all cases I have not changed to the temp folder.
So at least one other case of what Ricky is seeing. It doesn't happen all the time, but happens enough to be a minor annoyance. I not make it a point of closely looking at the save as dialog and changing the directory as needed.

Happened to me today and don't know why, but only once.
I played about 60 songs today, and once after adding a realtrack to a new song, the previous song popped up, with the new songs realtracks and style, and played the melody of the previous song at a wrong tempo. Spike Jones would have been proud.
NO idea in either case what happened, but I exited band in a box, went for a coffee, restarted and all worked fine. I've learned not to get in a lather over what a computer might do. It's more predictable than the 2 women who live here. I think it's ok to say hello to them this week but I'll check my cyclical notes.

This has been happening to me constantly in RB. It seems to happen after I have had a file open for a relatively long period of time, say more than 30 minutes or so. So I have developed a habit for carefully checking where the file is going to be saved before I click on save. I don't know, it seems like a bug to me.

I can't remember if BiaB has ever gone to the Temp folder or not but it does jump around in other places.
Sometimes when I go to open or save a file it goes to the Styles folder or the root \bb folder I think.
Huge pain.
I know there is a Favorites command but I wish there was a Default Folder command so I can always start at the same general place.
If there is such a feature and I missed it, I apologize.
