I have a question about changing the size of a measure. Is it possible to manually move a bar line so that a large measure can be created? As far as I know BB creates equal distant bars and will squeeze the lyrics. Maybe this ought to be in the wish section...............Thanks, J Rich.

The Lead Sheet window, under Opts, has a place to allow us to control the number of bars per line.
While this won't just stretch one bar it does stretch 'em all, making for a printout that can be used and viewed.
Check out the Options there and play around with them, using the Preview view before printing in order to see what you will get, this saves time, ink and paper.

Thanks, Mac. The reason I wanted to be able to move a bar is that I write Psalm responses. The verse lines will be shown as a whole note and however many words will be placed under the one note. It just simply indicates where the singer starts and where he ends. Because of the structure of the music and words, one bar may be half of the page, while the nest bar may only have one word......thus the need to move the bar where you want it and not where BB puts it. I am not being critical of BB. I am sure that this was not something that was considered as needed. Band in a Box is the best music program out there when it comes to writing music for fun or for serious professional writing. But it sure would be neat if all you had to do was hold the button down and drag the bar where you wanted it.

Sorry, Mac. I got carried away and forgot to tell you that I have explored and am well aware of the Lead Sheet Options and have used this many times in putting bars where I thought the song looked best on paper. There's one thing about it, If you do not know about it.........it ain't there. You are the Band in Box PRO. Thanks again.

Truth be told, when it involves the LeadSheet Options, I'm very often just trying to change things one at a time and then seeing what that did in the Preview, either accepting that change or then going back to the Options and changing whatever back to the way it was, then trying another until I "hit" on something that looks like it'll do the job.
And for sheets used in presentation to others, I am not shy about printing out whatever is close to what I want and then getting out the whiteout and the pen or pencil, using the good old fashioned manual method. The trick to using whiteout and pencil come in when I have it the way I want it, then I make a copy of that original using the scanner or photocopier and pass those copies out, they don't look to bad that way.
When the going gets really rough, I'm not averse to printing out the song in two or three different ways, then using the scissors and clear tape to assemble something onto another page for presentation to the photocopier, as well. And once I also invoked the Word Processor for the lyrics to a huge choir presentation, clipping those lines of lyrics and taping them under the staff. When photocopied, the right transparent tape becomes invisible for the most part. This method puts the blood, toil, tears and sweat back into the term, "Cut and Paste" *grin* but can Git R Done with quite good looking and easy to read results.
