1. The program, including RealTracks, will load a little faster (though it's not a problem using the external drive).
2. You always have a safe backup on the external drive.

NEVER use the external drive in real time if you haven't backed it up somewhere.So might as well back it up on the computer and put the external in the drawer somewhere.

Silvertones, that's not practical right now but it makes good sense. This toshi only has a 500 gig drive.

I would suggest then that you buy another EXT. drive and make a copy.

As per John's advice above . . . I too use another external so when I got my BIAB on the external it was shipped on I copied it to my existing external, put it back in the box in which it came, placed it in the vault and locked the door. The only time I take it out of it's secret undiclosed location is to add new "builds" as they come available.

Depends on what else you have on your laptop hard drive, but BIAB audiophile takes somewhere around the total size you have. I solved this by manually copying only some of the RealTracks and RealDrums to the laptop.
