How can I prevent the FT pro from D L-ing the 32 bit drivers on start up. This blocks the install of the new drivers. which are of course are older than the 64 bit drivers. It's jist biddniss. I have it disconnected and I think that's why the drivers won't install. It's a perfect catch 22.

Is it a 32 bit system? 32 bit drivers should work on a 32 bit system.
I believe you have to disconnect the device, uninstall the drivers, then reboot.
Then make sure the drivers are not running and reboot again (important).
Then try installing.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

At the beginning of this thread I mention it's a 64 bit system. I will try your suggestion right now and thanks for that information. I wasn't disconnecting the fast track after deleting the drivers. By re boot I assume you mean the computer. I also wasn't doing that each time. I'll post the result.

If the installer for the drivers says it can't find the device you'll have to install the device and try to stop windows from installing the windows drivers so your installer will work.
When you boot up after installing the device, watch for the little 'found new hardware' popup and stop windows from trying to take over the install.

Thanks rharv, that D L and install happen so fast I don't think I could stop it. There are no screens that come up except one saying the driver is installed. I can't call maudio they are closed today. I got the manual as a pdf and will go over the install info. Thank you very much for helping.

Well I just uninstalled the drivers and restarted installed the 6.07 x64 driver, restarted and checked the drivers in dev mgr. There are six or seven 32 bit drivers sitting there smiling. I have been thru this maddness about four times. This device is not connected to the internet but I just thought I might need to disable the wifi crap. I'm not used to haveing that stuff. But I'm in the middle of nowhere. Can it connect via my modem or router w/o the hard wire. I tried when I first got the box and couldn't do it. It just loaded new drivers and then told me about it. Who the hell owns this computer. Excuse me, marketing device. That mostly what it is. I just tried to follow the path in the driver details to go in there and execute them and windows explored has turned into some namby pamby library nonsense, to make my experience a little more pollyanna but it will not even show me the contents of the hd just program files. I could scream.

Just tried to get on line via wireless, turned it on, there is nothing out there as far as toshi is concerned. But it's getting drivers from the HD that I can't even follow a path to without rebooting in dos or some such horror.
