Why should I have to log in every time I visit this forum and yet again check the `remember me' box to absolutely no avail? There was a time when the forum F and L `bot did actually did remember my log in info over the period of a week maybe, and now it does not. I have not changed anything in my browser settings. Could browser settings have anything to do with it? Is this site queer for cookies maybe? I have some cookie restrictions enabled but my browser accepts cookies from pages I visit.

I have not had to log on or in or whatever for at least two years. I have 3 systems, and all of them get recognized. One is Win7 64, one is Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx, one is an Android 2.2 Tablet from Elocity.
I've only had to login/on once recently, after I changed my Xp computer to Linux.

I've noticed that when first going into the Forums, it says I'm not logged in. However, if I click on a forum, I go right in as my username without having to log in. The only time I have to log in is when I periodically clear my cookies.

Hello Ron,
I'm not sure, but here are some possibilities/suggestions.
- Make sure you aren't logging out. It will only log you in automatically next session if you don't log out.
- It could be an Internet Explorer specific issue or bug. Try using Firefox instead.
- Alternatively, if you don't want to switch browsers, try restoring IE to default settings. There's an option to do that in one of the settings dialogs.
- There may be something on your system deleting the cookie. Maybe anti-virus software, or because of a setting in your browser.
- Alternatively, have your browser remember your login name and password, so that while you aren't logged in automatically, you don't need to type in your info each time. If you've told your browser not to remember this information sometime in the past, you can change this - look in the 'auto-complete' section of the settings dialog. If you use IE, you might have to check the "Always ask me" box.
