With the time already spent (wasted?) messing around with a mobo that has taken a lightning strike (!), you could have replaced that mobo with the other one ten times over, man.

If it is a case where you are not sure about how to go about swapping mobos reliably, consider getting the aid of someone who knows, even if it means taking the computer and motherboard to a mom and pop computer store or the likes. Don't overlook the younger set that may be around you as well, many of 'em can swap a mobo in their sleep, they grew up with the PC...

But in any case, you certainly should change that motherboard!

Until you do, continuing to post problems you encounter will not likely resolve the situation.
