Has anyone noticed a phone ringing in RT#397, Bass Acoustic, Jazz Paul Sw 140? Not a bell ring, but one like heard on office phones.

R, I soloed 36 bars and regenerated and listened again and no ringing sounds.

I actually did have a phone sound on one of my songs a year ago, but never figured out where it came from (and no, I didn't "answer it", like Data in Star Trek with mint frosting).

To really find out, one would have to listen to all 56 .WMA files of that RealTrack all the way through. Yow - there is an afternoon shot: I listening to only one, Bas001, which took several minutes. I heard some fret noise and harmonics, either of which could fool someone in a mix.

Sounds like a plan. I will, too. But remember to freeze it, or you could hear it, press Play, and then not hear it again.

Just auditioning one of those 56 bass tracks took seven and a half minutes. This gives you a good appreciation for the amount of work PG Music does to produce these things. It's even worse: I did transcriptions for a lot of the sax parts a few years ago that became the RealTrack Motown Rock Tenor Sax. Note by note, this took about an hour per file.

Yea, I started to listen to the tracks - looked at the length and number and said "Forget it". I'm dying to know who was calling Jodi during the session. I don't think she answered though.

This is all pretty funny.

I'm thinking that, if I were PG Music, and someone reported a spurious phone ringing on one bass RealTrack, I could use an audio editor with a spectrum analyzer to examine each file quickly. Surely a ringing phone would stand out visually against a track of nothing but acoustic bass.

Alls funny above, but a little more seriously, I do hear artefacts including a sound like a mobile phone somewhere, but also other sounds. I think its a product of the Real Track morphing - quirks a little different to the general sequencer type noises.

So, in addition to 'flanging', we now have 'random phoning' as an effect? Is that VST or DXi?

It makes some sense, though; it adds realism to recordings!

If you have a file with any artifacts heard, please freeze the track, and email the file to beta@pgmusic.com. We can release a patch that removes that sound. Often extraneous sounds heard are digital artifacts from tempo stretching or transposing, but occasional ambient sounds are possible too.
