I’ve been a professional musical theatre lyricist/bookwriter & director for 26 years,vincentdetourdonnet.com I've recently started writing my own music, thanks to amazing programs like Band in a Box. (And Ableton Live) I’m getting some good results, but have some challenges with chord structure, melody, changes to keep songs fresh as they progress. I’m looking to sit down with a good songwriter/composer here in Toronto (preferably someone whose work I could hear first, to get a sense of whether or not I connect with their aesthetic.) Someone who could sit down with me and go thru some of my songs in detail and make some specific suggestions, helping me make those changes directly in BIAB, to improve the work. (I also have done some work in Ableton Live with which I could use help) Willing to pay an hourly rate, OR if desired, exchange my services, I’ve taught university courses in lyric writing and musical theatre writing, I’m a good teacher and a critically acclaimed writer/director. Is there someone anyone can recommend?
I had it in mind I wanted to do it in person, (here in Toronto( but I suppose I could do it over email, if needed. I could send someone my BIAB song, talk to them a bit and have them tweak/re-arrange re-write and if it feels useful, hire them to do more?
Any suggestions or leads? It's rock theatre I'm writing, some of it hard rock.

I like what I see in your past experience. Congrats on previous accomplishments.
Hard rock is a bit challenging in BiaB. Using Realband I think the challenge is able to be accomplished for your purposes. In BiaB alone, I'd feel much less confident.
That said, if you have BiaB files that show an eaxample of what you want, and are willing to go to RB as the next level, it may be possible (you can open BiaB files in RB). I'm about 4 hours from Toronto, and only go there every few years, but if you want to work on the net, I may be interested ...

edbulmer who hangs out here off and on is in Toronto and plays the boat show every year and does some of his own work.
We've helped him with lyrics in the past, and he does some covers and originals. I suspect he's like some of us, I think of the Mamas and Papas as hard rock man.
And I couldn't like Elvis because my Mom did. I caught the first wave of the British Invasion. The dude at the arena played God Save the Queen on the B3 before the hockey game. Rockin.
