This is considered to be a BETA update because it is new.
We are using the "b" to indicate that some files have changed since the build 316 release on April 19.
Summary of Changes for 2011 Build 316b (April 21, 2011)
Fixed: Timing for MIDI songs generated on the iPhone is improved.
Fixed: Some Bass RealTracks like #369 weren't playing chords like Fm7/C correctly.
In the past, BETA versions of updates have been issued in the same fashion, no?
I would expect the b to be dropped at some point, leaving only the number, but all that is up to pgmusic, of course.
