There is another Melody Edit command, "Kill Melody on middle choruses" or something like that, handy after copying to all choruses so that soloing can be done over the middle choruses but still have the Melody again on the last chorus.
OR -- to not have Melody on a single chorus or whatever, use the RightClick, Bar Settings to Mute the Melody for the specified time, unmute for another specified time.
