Hi Tom,
Sorry I wan't home the day you called, bro.
While we cannot separate the stereo audio drums into separate tracks for each drum and cymbal, we can sometimes use a single instance of Multiband Audio Compressor on the drums and pull off a few tricks to make it sound like perhaps we did. You could separate the lows and then compress to make it sound like there is more kick, etc.
Of course there will be leakage, but sometimes this little trick can put the thing near where it is desired, if not over the top.
