Ah, MarioD, sounds REAL. So good to hear non-RealGuitar gitar plucking. Agree with the Doors reference, but not sure why (the pedal like bass playing? Maggie McGill? Dunno). Keep up protesting. More power to you!

Isn't saying I should be for torture to save my family just another fear tactic.

Jesus... are you for real???

My contempt is not against people who don't share my views.
It is for people who are dangerous. Like folks who think that "political correctness" supercedes common sense.

This my last post on the subject. But I do believe I have developed contempt for you.

Let's not go down the road that could lead to inflamatory postings, please. This is music and sposed to be fun.
Mario, the song was great fun. I laughed at many of the great lines. I want my bail-out, too. I could use some new stuff; BIAB 2009 for one!
You did some cool things on BIAB in this song. I have to learn how to do some of the fancy stuff.

All this spending on nothing, by the powers that be, could land us in a depression and that is what I am worried about. Quite honestly, I used to consider myself Republican but feel the conservative ideals that made the Republicans stand out were lost with Bush and McCain.
As a Christian I believe we should hold our leaders to high standards. America should hold itself above reproach if we are to be "the world's moral authority." I feel that because of a number of issues in the last years the US has lost face in the world's eyes because of bad decisions. Very sad.

Mick, I have to answer your question. Yes, Jesus is for-real.

Be blessed
Bob

John:

Have you been reading and learning something about reality (what's actually going on)?

It's a very interesting read (the book), although admittedly unsettling. Perhaps we are fortunate to have an economic crisis to divert our attention from reality for now.

re: "This my last post on the subject. But I do believe I have developed contempt for you."

You may feel anyway you like Mick.

You were the one who used my comment to bring up the subject of torture. I was responding to Marios' song. Obviously you don't support President Obama, but torture was an issue in the election and Obama campaigned on shutting it down. And I believe he won that election rather handily. Obviously you think you know better, and fine, but don't expect me to agree with you. I don't, and it appears most Americans don't either. Also I believe it is illegal.

You were the one who brought my family into this. I thought that was a distasteful comment and unneeded.

"Huggers", "libs", "politically correct", and "are you for real" -- labeling people and being dismissive doesn't prove your point. You have your beliefs and I'm sure there are others that share them, but I believe there are many more who do not.

Oh.

I get it.

It is now "President Obama"...

But it used to be and still is just "Bush".

Got it.

It is now President Obama that is a fact and he's been in office less than 1 week and there's already a lot of bellyaching from the right. Limbaugh has already said he doesn't want him to succeed. I guess all that- he's the President of all of us and support our leader stuff goes out the window as soon as the shoe is on the other foot.

Sorry if I slighted former President G.H.W. Bush (guess I got that right?) who has now reserved his place in history, but I was just trying to make the point that a change has come and that there are some of us who welcome that change and have hope for better days ahead.

I didn't see much ambiguity in that election result.

Well things always change and in ways that are hard to predict. I think this downturn is likely to linger a while. I remember when Reagan came in things were bad and got worse for a couple of years before turning around.

Wait until they read and digest this one:

My impression of OB is that he's a thinking man that uses action - unlike most politicians of all stripes in all countries.

I wish we had someone with his vision and dynamics - although the bail out business truly has me worried.

Another point, Pete, where I bother my conservative friends. Obama IS president.
I understand Rush's statement about not wanting Obama to succeed in implementing his stated goals and policies(socialism). They aren't conservative. However, why would anyone from any country not want their leader to succeed? If the country goes in the tank because he failed we could all lose our jobs.
I guess, like Rush, I wouldn't care if Obama succeeds if I had a $435M contract with my employer. My contract has a few less zeros than Rushs' so I will be affected greatly if Obama doesn't succeed.
However, I still want my bail-out since I do have my eyes on a new Fender Super Champ practice amp! I would stimulate the economy by spending on BIAB 2009 and a new amp.

Oh, yeah, I'd feed the kids, too.

Be blessed
Bob
