Not sooooo fast moneyman. Unless you own (and you just might) 50webs.com that is technically not your website. So I am hoping for your and the butler's sake you did not hire him yet. But if you do own 50webs.com . . . how bout a little loan, or better yet a "bailout".

No "suppose" to it, Blue, song titles are simply not copyrightable. And that's from US copyright office. Matter of fact, there are many examples of copyrighted songs with the exact same names.

The US copyright office webpage FAQs even goes into detail about that subject, explaining WHY someone might not want to name their song exactly the same as another song that is already famous -- your royalties, if any, may just end up in the other guy's pocket!

So I could write a song titled: "Microsoft" and it would be completely legal?

Yeah, unfortunately your sub domain doesn't get tabulated. Only the domain you are hosting on is what is returned in the results. yoursite.theirsite.com won't work. So, unless you own 50webs.com, they get the bread and butter and you get a zero, unless of course you are making sales on your sub-domain. sorry charlie

Uh...it was a joke.....I know how it works.....

And sorry, no bailout at this time, tho I wish I could help....

My little $4 site has generated a few thousand this year...so I guess I don't put much faith in this valuing system they use. A site that was offered $60k is listed as worth $945, and a site in negotiations right now for around $50k is listed with a value of $10!

There are other, much more accurate sites for determining value. Try esibot.com it seems to be closer to real market

I don't think any of those type sites are very accurate, even the estibot.com, as they only evaluate the domain, and it is based mostly on traffic, rankings, etc., and perhaps stuff like keywords.
The business value of a site is not really figured in, based on sales/income.

You are right- Estibot is one of the few to look at the keywords and consider the potential of the domain name. The others posted here seem to just go by traffic the search engines can see. I have blocked a few folders at my sites, including the forum, so I know they don't see the true traffic even..
The value (like in all other things) is in the eye of the buyer.
There are some site valuations that do indeed incorporate the income per month (etc) but most need that information tp be input by the user...so the honesty of such input comes into question.

It has potential to be a good keyword site. With a little effort this site could be big in the search engines.. for those terms.

I had a domain name turn up as worth $150 when I haven't even built the site yet, much like your experience Telebob. Again, I think it's a perceived potential..
Since I got the name for $8 I'm not complaining.

Holy Moly Mates. It says mine's worth $ 3,813. Must be because of the link page. Plus Stephanie's page, plus the link to Comik Debris. I dunno. I've been thinking of re-vamping that site for some time. But lately I don't seem to have the interest I once had. Strange, eh?

Hmm, mine is worth 90,- bucks. Does it count in the Page Rank also? Because my Page Rank is 5.
I think a Website is worth whatever amount another person is willing to pay it for...
