i have had the feeling that SOMETHING is wrong can't put my finger on it 'cause i am new to all this stuff, i had a fella install it for me and he left some of the important files out the 1st time and had to reinstall
is there an idiot proof abc method/by the book way of installing the software?
he is an expert at PCs and it looks as though he has screwed up a 2nd time with the install.unless i am wrong.........

Which version did you buy? BIAB-Pro, BIAB MegaPAK, BIAB UltraPlusPak, or the BIAB EverythingPak. If you look here, you will see what you should have based on the package you bought. If you have one of the more expensive packs, then you must not have done a complete install. There are check boxes when running the setup program to choose how much you want to install. Based on what you posted above, it looks to me like you only have the BIAB-Pro version, which comes with the fewest of everything.

The Pro pack contains the least amount of add-ons. The BIAB program itself is the same for all the packages, but what differentiates them is the add-ons you get (which is why the UltraPlusPAK costs more). From the chart I posted, the basic BIAB Pro package gives you: Quote:
A. The BIAB program B. "RealCombos", which are a 'band' of RealTracks and RealDrums in the same style. For example, the Jazz Swing 140 RealCombo includes 5 Real Instruments (Bass, Piano, Guitar, Sax, and Drums) that play at a medium swing tempo. RealCombos have a "ideal tempo" listed - they can be played at any tempo, but sound best near the ideal (originally recorded) tempo. Band-in-a-Box Pro RealCombo Collection: Over 20 RealTracks, in 6 Bands. The RealCombos only include RealDrums Set 1 C. Styles Set 0-3 (out of the total 77 available) D. Soloist Set 1 (out of a total 20 available) E. Melodist Set 1 (out of a total of 8 available)
That to me sounds about right as to what your computer was showing. Were you expecting to have a lot more? If so, then contact PGMusic and see if you can upgrade to one of the higher level packs.
The Pro pack allows you to use the BIAB program, but only gives you a taste of what you can do with Realtracks, RealDrums, MIDI styles, soloists, and melodists. All the features work, but many of the add-ons that make it more full featured are available in the higher priced packs. If you can afford it, I recommend the UltraPlusPak, because that gives you pretty much everything you need to take full advantage of BIAB.

That is the most basic of setups, with not a lot of styles and realtracks/realdrums available in it.
As you have seen, there are many missing.
HOWEVER, you could take advantage of pgmusic's 30-day no questions asked policy and UPGRADE to the Mega Pak before that expires. Just contact pgmusic Sales directly, by phone or email, and talk with them about the price differential to upgrade to the larger BiaB suite. Its worth it. Don't try to do this using the edelivery or internet sales, talk directly with them so that you will not spend the hard earned $$ you've already spent on the Pro pack. They are great folks and I'm sure they would work a deal to exchange.

below is a message in the tutorial section.it is so one can check to see if all the drums are "in the right place" i checked and it stated that.........RealDrums sets in C:\bb\Drums\ : 1- Rock and Jazz..... it was obvious that a LOT were missing (according to my BIAB files)but they are not "missing" if they are not supposed to be there in the 1st place, right? (Pro version). the tutorial below is a somewhat confusing article to me
is there someway i can check to see that i have everything installed and in the proper place as ti should be for the 2011 pro version?
if everything is as it should be then i am more than happy with this version...God knows pro version is confusing enough without the added extras:)
can i get a guitar player voice to solo over any of the songs?
To find out which RealDrums Sets you have installed, you can go to the Help menu in Band-in-a-Box and click on What add-ons do I have? On the Mac version, you can go to the MIDI menu | What add-ons do I have?
To find out which RealDrums styles you have installed, On the PC you can open the RealDrums Settings dialog (RealDrums button in toolbar) and click the RD button. In PowerTracks 12 or Band-in-a-Box 2007, you'll get a menu that shows all of your RealDrums styles. In Band-in-a-Box 2008 and higher, you'll get a full-featured 'RealDrums Picker' dialog showing all your RealDrums styles. You can also right-click on the Drums track in the instrument panel and select 'Add/remove RealDrums'. On the Mac, either click the RealDrums button or control-click on the Drums track and select 'Choose RealDrums' to open the RealDrums Picker. In the RealDrums Picker dialog, you can also find out which styles you are missing by checking the box "Show RealDrums that are N/A (not available).
An alternative way to find out which styles you have is to look at the file 'DrumFolderNames.txt' or 'PGALLDrumFolderNames.txt' in your Band-in-a-Box folder - this file lists all of the styles found in your drums folder, including variations.
If you think it isn't displaying some of the RealDrums sets you have, try pressing the Update button in the (Band-in-a-Box) RealDrums Settings dialog (it shouldn't normally be necessary for you to do this). The other possibility is that you have some of your RealDrums installed to a 'Drums' folder in a different location. You need to have all of your styles in a single 'Drums' folder. This is usually C:\bb\Drums on the PC, or /Applications/Band-in-a-Box/Drums on the Mac.
Below is a list of the RealDrums styles included in each set. This list is current to RealDrums Set 29.

Yes Go to "Help", then Selection "What addons do I have"... opps, but you already knew that... so I guess I don't see a new question here? Perhaps you are just a little overwhelmed. It can happen with this applications - it takes time. Hang in there.
