During the last year and a half, if you have run BiaB in a reduced-window mode, it opens tunes initially showing some screwy number of lines (not the number set in "Display"), and the cursor disappears off the bottom of the window as it plays. It's confirmed by users and reported.
There was no correction in 2010.5. Users of 2011 reported that it continued the same. Does updating to the current build of 2011.5 correct any of that?
I see no reference to the problem on the updates page among the issues addressed, so can I assume it's still malfunctioning?

They may have been the fix in BIAB 2011.
Summary of Changes for Build 318 (May 30, 2011)
Improved: Sometimes after resizing the main window, parts of screen wouldn't redraw.

I run mine in reduced screen mode so that I can have the new mixer stretched out along the full width of the screen at the bottom and not cover any of the chord sheet.. Works fine with either fixed rows or auto rows.

Dan, that does look like the problem I meant. I misunderstood it when searching. I thought I remembered continued complaints into 2011, but maybe they were still from other 2010 owners resisting progress.
Silvertones: Yours is a helpful confirmation of using it handily without it screwing up. I transcribe a lot of tunes from leadsheets displayed on the screen next to BiaB, which is similar to your idea. The program is perfectly legible when reduced to 15 or 20% on a medium-sized monitor; it was a serious hindrance to be stuck in full screen all those years.

I went to see my bandmate's 2011 BiaB installation sooner than I expected. She never uses it, but we updated it to the Build 318 that Dan mentioned, and it's still doing the same objectionable thing described in the OP above. No change whatever. God knows what "improvement" they were claiming.
It's possible something has changed just lately since that build.

Yes, that issue was fixed in build 318 of BB 2011

Well, Silvertones says it's all right, and he knows what he's doing. But we can't notice any change at all here, so maybe he has a different definition.
The program opens in reduced mode with only 4 or 5 lines showing, irrespective of your Preferences settings. That's goofy behavior. Any slight tug with the mouse at the border does resize the thing according to how you have your number of lines set. But only then does it start to act as I'd expect.
Maybe that's considered "fixed". And by BiaB standards, one weird extra mouse click isn't a very strenuous workaround for programming quirks. But it's exactly the way the program has worked since 2010 came out.

Larry, perhaps what you are reporting is something different that was fixed in the 2011 build? I remember the screen display problem, it was indeed nasty and it has been fixed.
This is where a short video of the problems would save a lot of time. Can you show us your screen?

Dan, it is superbly kind of you to take an interest, and I am prepared to believe I am seeing something odd and different from what others mean.
But the only 2011 installation I have access to is some distance away; screen caps are not immediately in the cards. I don't own BiaB 2011 myself, and don't intend to get it unless the thing in question is definitely fixed. It works (in its way) as it is, so there's no rush.

I set my prefs to auto 4-12 rows & extra space at 4. Yes Each time you open the program I have to hit the min button at the top and grab the bottom of the screen to resize for that session.
