Of course Melodyne costs a couple hundred bucks. How badly do you want to edit those notes? Keep in mind from what I've read because I don't use it, Melodyne is best with single note audio files like a trumpet solo, not chording instruments like piano or guitar. I've found when you chop a RT down to a single note, it's no different from a good synth for the same voice. If it's trumpet for example and you want to modify a RT for a malody line, using a good quality synth trumpet works just as well especially in a mix. You can hear a sonic difference when you solo that track but in a mix very few would notice.
