Yes, just tell the Melodist to use a Style that is Swing-based (triplet feel) or one of the Waltz styles, where 4 bars sounds the same as 12/8, or one of the 12/8 styles (where it is still 3/4 but the 4 bars = 12/8 may have a better feel to it.
