Well, quite a few great answers here but I remember when the real tracks first came out there was this great loud noise about how they where so much greater then MIDI. I can see where they could be but with MIDI I am not dependent on PGMusic for my tracks. With Real Tracks I am. Now several of us have asked about opening up the process so that others could produce 3rd party real tracks but PG seems to want to hold onto this for himself. I observed back then that I couldn't really get the real tracks to play what I want them to play. They only play what has been recorded by that particular person. With MIDI I can adjust each note if need be. Back then I had only the dx synth sounds that came with BIAB and they didn't compare with the real track in sound. Now I have several DAW's that can handle a slew of virtual instruments and I have been able to obtain some that are really dynomite. In fact with the sounds I now have available it may not be worthwhile to try and obtain anymore real tracks. But than again, I don't have a good steel guitar and the real track steel sounds very nice. So.... guess you use a little of this and a little of that. Still it would be nice to be able to create our own real tracks. I wonder what would happen to BIAB if some of the super loop makers started making real tracks. If there where a couple of hit songs created with just one of tracks and BIAB every pro studio in town would have to get a copy of BIAB so they could come up with there copy cat hit!
