Hi family: Has anyone run across a situation where while recording a "punch in" overlay with a mic, that the recorded track seems to come in two or three bars early? I looked at the audio under: Edit Audio, and the wav file of it was in the exact right place, but the sound of it was coming in 2 bars early. Weird! Thanks, JZ

Wave file in the right place on the timeline, but you hear the audio at a different time is likely due to use of a software synth and a wrong Latency setting if using MME Windows Sound drivers, or could be the buffer settings in the soundcard's ASIO control panel need adjusted if using ASIO drivers.
You are likely hearing the imposed lag time that tries to compensate for the time it takes your computer to generate MIDI sounds with the softsynth. Most more modern computers, you can find a setting that is faster that should make this work.
More info as to your PC, OS, chosen softsynth in BB, etc. can maybe shed more light.

Yes, thank you Mac. It's funny too because this feature has worked well before, on another song. I wonder if all else fails, if I could "select" and "copy" the wave file and move it physically to two bars later. So, is there a way to select and "move" the selection to another place (copy and paste)?

I was just reminded that the Audio Edit section of BB has a Timeshift Edit in there.
You can use that to timeshift the audio file in one operation...

Thanks Mac. I'm laying the melody on this weekend, then going to try to "overlay" underlying harmony after that. I'll keep everybody posted. Ha! If it persists, I'll just write it as a "round". That should fix it.
