You mean I ate 88 dozen eggs for NOTHING???
I am going to go with the foam as well as one key item. Whoever posted the photos of the multicolored gobo also showed me how I am going to do vocal isolation. I found 2 doors on out local freecycle web page. They are 80 tall by 24 wide interior doors. I plan put them on hinges and then cover them with throw rugs. The hinges will be so I can fold it in half and move it when I am not using it.
Good stuff. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experience and opinion. Just like any other situation, if you don't know, ask somebody.

Eddie, when you build your gobo save out some ofnthe foam for the outer surface(the side that won't get folded to the inside.)
I should take some photos of the gobo in my roon i use it in now. My 'booth' is much better now as the backside is an open clothes closet with lots of heavy winter coats in it that we actually dont use too much out here in colorado.
I also fashioned a lyrics hanger that goes over top but not so low that it causes reflection issues into the mic. It uses those big binder clips.

Those colorful throw rugs... was that the side where you stand and sing (I will call that the inside) or the other (out)side?

On the gobo, the rug is just for decoration primarily - I bought them at IKEA in Chicago many moons ago simply because I liked the colors.
The nap on the rug is only perhaps 1/4" deep, so it doesn't really do much for absorption when placed against a hard flat panel. In this case, the rug is up against 1/4" plywood.
On the wall, the rug is stapled to a framework that I made from 1"x2" material and hung from the ceiling by picture hanging wire. It stands out about 4" from the wall - making it actually effective as a means to stop the flutter echos that were present in the room. Reason: the high frequency waves have to 'work' to get through the weave of the rug; the energy that does get through hits the wall 4" behind and reflects back into the rug, where it has to work again to get through. That nearly completely killed the flutter echo in the room. Before the rug, you could clap and hear a sort of pinging sound as the waves bounced back and forth between the parallel walls. After, nothing.
Regarding your room - do you hear issues in the room? What happens when you clap in the locations where you want to do your recording? What does it sound like when you record with a cardioid condenser mic in the room, if you have one? Do you get a 'small room' boxy sound to acoustic guitars? If the answer is 'no', there might not be much that you have to do. Getting a full band in there and recording without significant bleed is going to be quite tricky.
I can say with absolute confidence that the monitor speaker location you have in the pictures is about the worst place you could put them in the entire room. Nearly guaranteed comb filtering at the listening location. Pull them out away from the wall at least a foot or two if you can, and then also get some absorption on the sloping ceiling anywhere you would be able to put a mirror and see the monitor speaker in the mirror from where your listening location is. Also, as rharv pointed out in the other thread, the speakers shouldn't be so far away from each other horizontally.

Scott, I have moved the monitors to where they are now 3 feet to my left and right on shelves, but with the size and shape of the room they are always going to be under that slanted ceiling. The whole room is slanted ceiling.
I was experimenting with the gobos tonight. I did something as simple as staple a moving pad to the side that will be facing the singer standing behind it. Then I ran some music through my monitors and watched how high the lights on the mixer VU meters went with the mic sitting where it will sit. I pushed the volume until the VUs showed 2 lights. Then I wrangled the best into position and played the same passage at the same level and the mixer did not show any lights, so the isolation factor is there. THAT part is cool.
The room itself is not THAT echoic, but I am going for totally dead so I have control over any reverberation via the digital reverbs. I don't plan to ever record "full band". I have never done it that way. I have recorded live takes like that as a reference track, then had one player at a time record their parts alone on other tracks. I just never had the luxury of 5 or 6 isolation rooms.
My goal with the gobos is as much isolation as room deadening. I want my singer in an area where nothing will get to that mic but the voice. Headphone extension will be run soon and there will be a headphone jack in the area where my singer will be. And that place is in front of a closet with the closet door open 90 degrees to form the left wall, the doors with the pads on it forming the front and right. I was quite happy with the levels I got (more accurately DIDN'T get) in my testing. We'll see how it goes when I can actually use it during the week, but in my "one step at a time because this is after all my hobby" mode, it will all get done in a logical order. Windows, drywall repairs, paint, lighting... Actually fun to be involved with this stuff again!!
And SO MUCH good advice to take and run with in the research phase. Love this place!!!!

I'd say that even 1/4" of rug likely does indeed reduce high frequency reflections, otherwise known as, "ping".

Certainly - but one can make it more effective by giving it some space in between the rug and the reflective surface. Which brings up a point - if you are going to try to use rugs/carpets on vertical surfaces, it's always best to shoot for those without a solid backing; that is, avoid those with a rubberized backing or glued backing if possible.

Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
