If you move the project over to RealBand, you could have a separate track for each trumpet part or punch in or whatever you desire...

Very quick mute changes are very rare. Matter of fact, the good arranger/composer allows time between sections so that the horns can change mutes. (I'm recalling the time long ago when I pulled that stunt - one beat to change from straight to hat - the cats on the band bus back then were really not very forgiving of the novice arranger back in the day, heh!) If the mute changes are sudden, the music doesn't sound as realistic, because we are not accustomed to hearing abrupt mute changes anyway. When the muted trumpet changes suddenly, it has a tendency to sound\ more like a MIDI patch change happened, even when using real horns.
