It might help shed some light if you could copy the exact Access Violation message and post what it says here.
You do have UAC turned off in Win7, right?
First, try a reboot of the computer and see if the problem goes away.
If still no joy, try Options->Return to Factory Settings button number 2 (which resets the program AND the MIDI/Audio).
