I guess i shouldn't be so hard on the fella, but it rubbed me the wrong way. I sounds like he sort of stopped by on the way somewhere with Hard drive in hand, and wanted them to stop what they were doing and load him up with the newer version for cheap.

If I am getting this wrong I am sorry, but that is what he said. Just seems a bit presumptuous to me.

I would not go by a good friends house and ask him to give me some of his work services for cheap.

I kind of have a policy in business. What i do for a living i expect to be paid for, and i expect to pay others for their services. If someone asks me to help with something outside my work scope i am happy to help. Example i used to be an alarm installer, and someone wanted an alarm installed i gave them a price to do it. If someone wanted me to help them move, or repair a door, or their drywall, whatever i came over and we got it done. Just my take.

Roknroot has been around since 2004, and has posted 5 times, so obviously he is not big on forums, but has used the software for a while, so i don't mean to be offensive, but it does not seem right to expect more than the going price. Like i said above it is like walking into a store and saying " I like these blue jeans, and since i have been a loyal customer of this store i want them for less that the stated price. Less than what others are paying that day.

Maybe he felt that since he had brought in his used hard drive that he deserved a discount, but what that doesn't take into consideration is that that is not their work flow. Some one has to stop what they are doing and plug the hard drive in, make sure it is formatted properly for a full load, and load it. Now they are once again responsible for it if something goes wrong.
