I'd like to use band in a box with a "presidential type" teleprompter. I can get the half mirrored mirror and stand, but dont know how to put band in a box in a mirror image mode on my laptop so that my teleprompter view will be upside down and reversed. Any ideas how this can be accomplished so that I can play my horn accompanied by band in a box and look my audience in the eye like those who are so accomplished in the use of a teleprompter? ANDREDD

The video card in my desktop workstation has an applet that lets me control screen orientation as well as many other advanced functions not directly available through Windows. I was able to link it to the Desktop Properties tab, so it's just a few mouse clicks away.
That's the first place I'd look. Right click on the desktop, select "Properties," then look for advanced video settings and/or a tab for the card itself. Be curious to see what you find.
If no joy, I'd check Control Panel to see whether there is a listing your of video card. After that I'd go to the card manufacturer to see if there is a standalone app for your adapter.
I'd tell you to read the manual, but if you've got a newer machine you probably don't have one. I've got a dinosaur, so I do. *g*

Saw a fellow using this at a conference, looked interesting at the time so I typed the name into my pocket pc, he used it to display speech script, but it was showing the whole pc screen with Word or Powerpoint running, that's really all I know about it, it is software designed for reversing the pc screen for the purpose of teleprompting. http://www.drs-digitrax.com/ There are likely other offerings out there, doing a websearch for something like, "computer screen reverse for teleprompter" is recommended, study long and don't buy wrong. EDIT: Looking at the above webpage, I guess they cannot display the full screen in reversal, just text entered into their program. Not sure how the fellow I saw was getting what looked like screenshots of his programs. **One method that will work every time involves use of an older CRT type monitor and a wee bit of hardware modification. The yoke around the rear of the CRT tube controls the scan. Reversing the vertical and horizontal wire connections from the yoke to the board will yield a reversed and flipped picture. This is extemely cost-effective, easy to do and has the advantage that all you need do is hook it up to a laptop as the second monitor and voila.** --And, if you are not skilled with the electronics altering, this is something that a local TV or Computer repair shop should be able to easily accomplish for you. --Mac --Mac
