Hello Everyone. I am trying to import an mp3 file to the ACW and I receive this error code:
error creating c:\bb\INPUT.TXT
Has anybody had a similar problem? Can anyone give me a solution for this? Thank you.

You should probably call PG Music Support on this one. I use the ACW and do not have such a file. I cannot imagine why a TXT file is involved in this operation.
In the meantime, it would help if you could please tell us what operating system you have, which version of BIAB, and whether you are running it from the external drive or have it installed on your C drive.
If you are using Vista or Windows 7, you might try turning off the User Account Control (UAC) by setting it to its lowest setting.

Thanx Matt for your input, I suspect I had some type of virus so I ran a scan....nothing showed up. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and am running BIAB 2011.5 on an internal drive on my HP laptop. I have used the ACW many times before without this problem. I also get a similar error code from RB when trying to run ACW there. I've been trying to check file associations to see if that might be the problem but no joy. I have given full control for permissions to see if that might be the culprit....no joy. I will look for the UAC but isn't that the same thing as Permissions? Oh, I forgot to mention that I can open Midi files and native files on BIAB but cannot import mp3 or .wav to ACW!!

Update, I was able to import a .wav file into BIAB ACW but still no .mp3. The .wav file was a recorded version of the same .mp3 file....go figure.....I thought that particular .mp3 file was the problem but after trying several different .mp3 files in different locations....still no joy. This is a PUZZLER!!!!

Did you try the old standbys, Opt., Return to Factory Settings, and if that doesn't work, reboot?
Given what you've said and tried, since you cannot open a .WAV file in the ACW as well as .MP3, I'm wondering if you should reinstall BIAB. Again, I think this one needs PG Support.

Never gave that a thought....thanx for the tip. Would the codec have to be put in the bb folder rharv?

My guess too, Harv. That K-Lite codec pack (http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm) fixed my conversion and sample rate woes and I am sure it would fix much more. Maybe even this problem.

No, the codec gets installed to the system (in Windows) and the program uses it. Eddies suggestion of codec packages has worked for quite a few people.

We have joy down here in the bayous of Louisiana thanx to rharv, matt, and all. I did put the lame dll in BB but I also ran the .exe. It's working and I'm now a very happy camper. Great group we have here!!!! I'm thankful. Just in time for thanksgiving INDEED!! ok, i'LL put a lid on it.

Matt, sorry I missed your second reply....I did reset to factory settings. I can't remember in what order I did that....before or after I installed the lame codec but one or the other or both have me humming. Thanks again. Thanx to eddie too...I already had the K-lite installed but it could have been corrupted as rharv suggested.
