Hi My name is Stelios Panos and I am a guitar teacher for 19 years. Τhe last seven months I have worked hard to bring together a full collection of "Django Reinhardt for band in a box". I'm proud of my work, since it includes almost all the songs and the solos "Django" ever recorded. I believe this is a valuable tool to anyone who wishes to master Djangos improvising through Band in a Box. I know this sort of breaks a 'rule', but perhaps someone else could comment on this. Not totally my genre, but this looks very professional.

Everything that I saw was from band in a box, the midi stuff that I heard sounded kind of like AI playing an uninspired midi performance. That said, what really matters is the quality of the `transcriptions'. My interest would only be the Wes material which has an extensive song list. But Wes' playing would be more difficult to convey via midi technology. This is my main concern. Has anyone tried this stuff?

I agree, John. It certainly looks very professional.
Before buying these files, it would be handy to know that all is above-board from a copyright perspective. I would think that Django's compositions (melodies, solos and characteristic breaks) are still protected by copyright laws given that he died 60 years ago.

This same product and topic came up last year or this past spring IIRC - and no one has came back with a clean bill of health on the legality of this set.
ON the other hand I would assume the estate or copyright holders would have jumped on this site and person by now if he DID not have rights and permissions but….
Only reason HAVE NOT bought is because of this doubt. I just sent an email to them asking them to come back with positive verification(s) that they have those permissions and rights
I'll come back with any info
