Don, The first time I've seen it.......thanks! Carl was a real rocker.....one of my favourites.And what a wonderful "backing group"!  And when I was onYouTube...up came one of my favourite Guitar players...Albert Lee with Vince Gill! You've kept me up late again Don! Regards, Joe G.

joe, now that's what i call a "pick-up band," aye wot? i gained a new appreciation for george harrison's guitar playing. someone said george "upstages everyone without even trying." he had that mysterious magnetism. clapton is no slouch either.

i know that carl replaced luther perkins (no relation, incidentally) as johnny's lead guitarist after luther's untimely (is there such thing as a timely death?) death. carl could imitate luther's "boom chucka" style pretty accurately but you and i heard the difference, i'm sure. i had mistakenly stated that they (carl and luther) were brothers. welp! i stand insurrected. even irishmen can make mistakes, especially if there is nobody handy to pin it on.

Back in the 80s when I was a jingle producer/guitarist/singer, I had the pleasure of doing a few sessions in Nashville. One morning I was standing in line at the local Hyatt waiting to check out when I noticed the guy in front of me at the counter had on a beautiful suede fringe jacket and blue suede cowboy boots. When he turned around
I saw that it was Carl Perkins! Very exciting moment.
