is there a way to record my midi's after i fix them with key changes and effects....to record them in midi format instead of audio.....audio is the only way i've learned to do so far..
would love to record my work back to midi to be able to play them on my yamaha keyboard on a flash drive

Yes.
There are two record buttons on the main screen. The one marked just "Rec" is intended to record MIDI from an outboard instrument. If it is not working, check OPT>PREFERENCES>MIDI DRIVER to make sure that BiaB is aware of the presence of your keyboard via its MIDI cable.
The hooking up of MIDI can be a little tricky. Might take a few tries. Be patient.

Hi cajun,
If I'm understanding your post correctly, it sounds like you have some midi files that you load into BIAB and then adjust them by adding effects, etc. You would then like to save the new modified files in midi format. Is this correct?
If so, under "File" on the upper menu, it's possible to save the song as midi by selecting the "Make Standard MIDI file" option (I suggest choosing the default "Type 1" midi format).
All the best, Noel

If you simply want a new MIDI file that incorporates the changes you have made as to Keysig, or Tempo, etc. -- thias is the way to do it.
No need to Record from beginning to end, Saving As Standard MIDI file is faster and is all you should do.

Hi cajun, I've been using BIAB since 2006 and there has always been the option to make a MIDI file. To the best my memory, that's always been called "Make a Standard MIDI File" as shown in the image below. If you don't have this option, could you please let us know a little more about what version of BIAB you have? Kind regards, Noel

I would think the 'Save As' path has a dropdown to select the format (with MID being a choice) also.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

ok my Bad....in BIAB under file there is the save midi file area like noel96 provided
i was working in Realband with my midi's....and in that area under file there is( no make a standard midi file ) link to click on..i will experiment with save and save as in that area and see what happens
there is however the SAVE button and the SAVE AS button there..
on the ACTION BUTTON on the toolbar....there is a link to click SAVE TRACKS AS MIDI OR WAV file...i have been able to record audio and save it here...i will try next to save the midi file here with no audio recorded and see if it saves my work with key changes and effects...and try to play on my keyboard mm6 yamaha..
don't think it will give me the option of type 0 or 1 midi file though
and as alway's thanks for you guy's help and input cajun

Real Band is different. When you hit "Save" you see two combo boxes at the bottom of the save window. The second one says "Save as file type". Click on the down arrow and select "Midi". The default is type 1 which means all your instruments show as separate tracks. Type 0 means everything is on one track.
