I use BiaB 2006.
I need to change the instrument of the last note of a bar, as this is a "lead-in" for the next bar. I want to let the instruments "speak" simulating a male and female "singer". I want to change from vibes to violin.
If this cannot be done, can I change the second half of a bar, or split a bar? The melody and lyrics are already written, so I don't want to write it once again.

I would record one instrument to the Melody track on the Thru channel, then move that to the Soloist track, then record the second instrument to the Melody track via the Thru channel.
End result should sound like what you want if you think out the parts before recording -- or chart them and follow the chart.

+1. I've done what Mac is suggesting many times and while it's extra labor it works well.

Another options is to go to the notation window and click on the # sign events editor and insert the patch change where you want them. Just tested it out and put a piano in the first two bars with Vibes starting at just before the last note of bar two. The last note of bar two now becomes a pickup to bar 3 and the last note in bar two and notes following are played by vibes instead of piano, then half way through bar 6 I changed it back to piano.
This seems to be what you were going for?

PapaMikie, this was just what I was asking for! I surely have to work more to learn the event-editing, but so far this works as I want it to.
I will also try using solo when entering notes, but at this moment I've only used the Soloist-tool, and it will destro any editing I made.
