Hello everyone,

I recently bought BIAB 2012 UltraPlusPack and use it with a Sonar V-Studio 100 Sounddevice/DAW with the latest ASIO-drivers on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, 6Gb internal memory. I installed my music apps including BIAB 2012 on a separate 2nd harddrive configured in dual-boot and no other sounddevices are attached.

When I want to drag & drop tracks from BIAB to the Dragbutton on the top left in DAW-plugin mode BIAB tells me I need to switch on the DXi to be able to drag Midi-files so I switched Coyote DXi on at the Midi Driver tab. Then BIAB tells me I should press Play first to fill the tracks so I just press the play button. Then the following error occurs : 'Access Violation at address 0844285C in module Rdaw1099.dll. Read of address 00000108 at: 0844285C'.

Can anyone tell me what can be the problem here?

Thanks in advance for your response

Could possibly be an attempt to use the same ASIO driver in BiaB at the same time as having another Audio Recording program open that is assigned the same ASIO driver. -- A solution for this one is to try setting BiaB to "MME"(WDM) Audio drivers for the session. No loss there, as latency is not a problem when doing the drag 'n drop.

If that doesn't do the trick, also make sure that you have UAC turned off in the System.

Isn't there a checkbox to enable BiaB to drag MIDI tracks as MIDI without needing to convert to audio first? I thought I remembered seeing that ..

Drag/Drop Tutorial is on the Support - Videos page.

Hello Mac,

Thanks for your reply. At the time this error occurred there was no other audio program open, so ASIO was used by BIAB exclusively. Maybe your suggestion using MME instead of ASIO is an option during drag & drop operations if latency is not involved. Another workaround could be just using the Midi export option instead of Drag&drop to avoid using the Coyote DXi. I will also check out your other suggestion switching off UAC completely.

thanks,

Valentino

Hello Rharv,

Thanks for your reply. I checked the settings in BIAB under Options - Preferences -DAW-Plugin.
I have the following settings :

Allow Drag & Drop - (checked)
Drag individual Midi tracks as Audio (Using VST/DXi) - unchecked
Drag Combo track as Audio (Using VST/DXi for Midi tracks) - unchecked
Drag Combo as separate tracks - checked

There is an interresting tip in the dialog :
'Tip: Holding SHIFT key during drag will force Drag Type to Midi'
It doesnt mention though if Midi still needs to be converted to Audio first.

greetings,

Valentino

In the video, Peter drags it as MIDI and he said that is the default setting in the video .. don't understand why a VSTi or DXi would be needed in this case.

The video is here-
