Okay.

This type of behavior is often due to IRQ sharing.

Check your IRQ table (google to find out how) there is a good chance that your soundcard is sharing an IRQ with some other high bandwidth device.

Do not believe the Windoze "no conflict" report here, it will always report that no matter what.

Ideally, your soundcard should be all alone on an IRQ -- by itself.

If it isn't, try putting it into another PCI slot, start up and check the table again.
